I feel like I have to do a review:
Graphics, Props, Costumes, etc: 8/10
The costumes were top-notch. The thermo-vision segments were pretty damn good. However the movie seems to have been one big major halloween party. The design for the She-Pred's armor was actually pretty good, the SPC was very well managed, and the mandibles, although they didn't seem to bend the right way, were a very nice addition. Explosions, gun shots, and all that were well devised and presented.
Acting, Choreography, Presentation, etc: 5/10
A cosplay fest really. Guys in Pred, Alien, Suits, and Combat Fatigues. The voiced sections were completely unnecessary, and almost inaudible behind the music. Many repeated and unnecessary scenes. "You *whatever he said* son of a bitch" was an especially bad scene, but not nearly as bad and useless as the guy saluting the audience shit. The Predators and Aliens weren't nearly as dynamic as they could have been, partially because the camera could have been moving around for best effect, but no, it stayed in place. Theater quality scenes, such as that shot with the Pred under grey sky walking casually past a tank in the middle of a war zone, were few and far between.
Sound, Music, Audio, etc: 7/10
The sound of the Predator roaring at the beginning was well done and good quality. The voice acting, as I said before, was unnecessary and low-quality. The music, in my opinion, was not a good choice, but they may have had limited resources so I'm not deducting too much for it. Still the tribal chants, high-strung violins and such were completely out of place. I would have chosen a more electronic/rock approach.
Bonus: 1 for budget
Although the acting wasn't the greatest, the settings weren't the greatest, I must hand it to those people they made a decent extreme-low budget outing.
Total: 7.5/10
A decent movie. But allot more could have been made of it from allot less. _________________

After 30 seconds of watching it, I couldn't stop laughing and shaking my head. Like what Simon said, it's just a bunch of weird scenes of cosplayers thrown together like garbage salad without any clear inner plot that most theatrical trailers tend to have. If there is a plot, it seems to be the usual cliche sci-fi plot of a corporation/government hiding alien technology and alien autopsy videos and the aliens return blahblahblah, SEEN IT.
The Batman vs Alien vs Predator movie is way much better than this on every level... _________________ plz to be visiting my board of predator debauchery |

Yeah, well how is your AvP movie coming along, huh?
That's what I thought!
Yeah, it turns out that the "movie" is only 6 minutes long or something, And yes, the acting sucks ass. But they deserve at least some credit for the special effects. _________________ Context is everything. |

Once I have Fox studios by the balls, I shall shove my script down their gullet while coaxing them by massaging their throat.

Yes, the effort is there, but I have seen better in the AVP independent fan film selection on the internet... _________________ plz to be visiting my board of predator debauchery |

Ah you wacky Yanks. In this context the queen is saying that the lady in question promises too much, and goes beyond normal expectations of wifely duty. It doesn't mean protest in the modern sense. And hey, we're not all as slow witted as Blaster, I got the joke. _________________

Ok, Mr. Rigid Thinking, it may come as a surpise to you that I am not actually the fictitious Queen Gertrude and I am not addressing Claudius. The fact that the particular meaning of "protest" has not been preserved is largely irrelevant here, as it is the irony of the claim which is of import as it was with the original line. See "adaptation."
It would seem that the line between "purist" and "know-it-all snob" is a thin one indeed. _________________ Context is everything. |

The acting is painful to watch. The script bites thick carpet. The costumes were awesome...although I am concerned for that on Pred...serious mandible issues. Overall it doesn't seem to bad for an independent movie. _________________ Earth first....we'll screw up the other planets later.

Equally it appears the line between "moderator" and "hissy-fit throwing drama queen" has become rather blurry. _________________

You do realize the hypocrisy inherent in such as statement, do you not? After all, it was you who began with your silly, unnecessary diatribe. But that's ok; logic need not enter into the picture here. _________________ Context is everything. |
