If WarGames is the movie i think it is, it wins... isn't that the one with the kids who hack in the computer and almost start a global nuclear war? _________________

Jeez... It has to be between two movies that I haven't seen since the 80s? Of the two, "Wargames" is probably the better choice, right in line with other 80s defining films such as "Short Circuit", "Tron", and "Back to the Future", "Mad Max 2", and "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome". "Lethal Weapon" belongs somewhere in there, too. _________________ "Yeast devil! Back to the oven that baked you!" |

I vote Goonies, but only because The Blues Brothers isn't in the list. Or Big Trouble in Little China.

I don't think I've seen WarGames but The Goonies I love. But, if there were more choices, I might have picked something else. As some people mentioned Back to the Future and Ghostbusters, those are two '80's series's that my friends and I still enjoy and love.
My friends also like old '80's B-Movies. I don't know if any of you watch them, but we have a few of them here, like "Funhouse", "Head of the Family", and "Trilogy of Terror 2". Those represent the '80's pretty well too, somewhat. _________________

I'm sorry, but I think the finest movie in 80's cinema is
This is Spinal Tap

1989. Winona Ryder kills a bunch of people from school at the behest of Christian Slater and makes them look like suicides. Comedy. _________________ The only thing worse than furries is xenies. |

I agree with Simon_Says - Back to the Future. MJ Fox was an 80's icon, it had that great Huey Lewis song, and central to the movie was the contrast between the '50s and the '80s, which drove the '80s part home. _________________ You keep using that word. I would have to go with Princess Bride or Fast Times at Ridgemont Hight
Of the options listed, I have to take War Games because my dissertation is about creating strategic games (although none involving nuclear weapons). |

C'mon now, a movie that epitomizes the 80's has to be cheesy and goofy and have a new wave soundtrack.
Better Off Dead
Fast Times At Ridgemont High
Ferris Beuller
and
Just One Of The Guys
Those movies ARE the 80's! _________________ It's a Chigger Bite |

Aliens, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi were all made in the 80's. Shame on all of you, forgetting where we came from.... _________________
