I read in Starlog (ahhhh...classic, anyone remember that gem of a magazine?) about the possibility of AVP 8 years before it happened, right around the same time i read about Jason V Freddy, and that worked out for everyone eh??? well......kind of.

Hmm, I heard about this for like 5 or 6 years ago... or something. But when they made AvP, I thought that was gonna be the new Alien movie, so I never thought about it anymore. I really hope they're gonna make it good.

Alien V won't even sell real good. I'm hesitant about it myself. The series should have been over. The only way giger's creation can hit the big screen properly now is in spin off films (AvP series for example) or in games.

Yeah, I mean, do the Aliens have a homeworld? I thought that by now they sorta spread through-out the galaxy... it would be way cooler if the Aliens somehow got to earth... (and it would be way cliche if there was an egg on the Betty... Razz

shit i dont know, as a movie, as ANY movie, despite the fact that it had aliens and preds fighting, it was terrible, again, as a MOVIE in general, it was poorly written, with no characters worth mentioning, and it was completely ignorant of the history laid out in every other movie. but no matter what it had aliens and predators ON THE SAME SCREEN FIGHTING EACH OTHER, I mean, any given shitball directed by mcG or jerry bruckheimer, or Paul Anderson for that matter would score about a million points if it had five minutes of an alien and pred kicking the shit out of each other on screen.

So I had to silence my angry inner fanboy and just enjoy the fact that I could see in live action what I had always enacted with action figures in my basement.

Oh, I dunno, the Elder Pred had all but 3 minutes of screen time, and I remember him really well...the cape is perhaps the coolest fashion statement in Predator history.

That's why it's called "ALIEN Versus PREDATOR." In my opinion, half the reason people didn't care about the humans is because of their potential overenthusiasm for mindless action. Not that there's anything wrong with mindless action (me, I loved it), but you can't let looking forward to it diminish the significance of whatever comes before it.

I agree with the lenght part, it should have been longer, but personally I loved the movie, I went to see it the day it came out in the theatres and bought it the day it came out on DVD and I frequently watch it.
