Yeah, I studied literature and ended up as a consulent for a informationcentre for the largest urban regeneration project in Europe. Horrible office, horrible boss. But I told him last wednesday I'll quit (whoohooo!)

Nope... still can't go to an aquarium without getting the old robes out and having a quick worship at the octopus tank.
Yup, we really took Call of Cthulhu seriously. Right up to the point we had a massive split because of the pronunciation of the name. Cuh'thulhu, C'chooloo, Kut-too-loo etc etc... the compromise was "Call of Charlie", which kinda ruined the mystique a little...
and don't even get me started on Nyarlahotep  |

Hmmm, perhaps it pays to be subtle when mentioning things like post-modern metafiction. I quit in mourning and protest when Chaosium was assimilated, but man, we had fun with that game - even if it took 3 hours to make a character *laugh* Not an easy system to build within, but in play it was elegant as hell.
My favorite of all the ones I ran (which I always did; I preferred running it to playing it) was one which generated a saying still in use among some of us:
Group approaches a cellar staircase narrow enough to allow only single-file descent. They choose the P.I. to go first, because he can hopefully pick the large and obvious lock they can see on the door at the bottom. Behind him comes a debutante with more...well, more anything than brains, played by someone who also fit that description. Scared as hell, she has her shotgun out, and is far enough back to have it leveled. And no one pauses to think what a bad idea this might be.
By the light of a small flashlight, it takes the P.I. a couple of attempts, but he gets the lock. The door opens outward so they can't crowd together. No one seems to wonder about the awkwardness of that arrangement, even though the P.I., who's pretty strong, can barely pull the door open; it's huge and heavy.
Door open, the group is faced with about a dozen zombies. The debutante's player immediately screams "I SHOOT! KABLOOEY!" and meaty bits of the P.I., who was of course still in front of her, spatter the advancing zombies.
