Didja ever have one of those, "where is that guy from?" Of course you have.
Well, it happened recently for me while watching season 3 of the Tudors. I kept thinking that name sounds familiar... 'course the Wife had taken the laptop in order to keep up with all things "-ville", so I had to wait to hear him speak. I'm pretty sure he was playing the Pope and that's when it hit. Of course! There is no other role better for Ming the Merciless, than the Pope.
Man... he's aged. Which begs the question... why hasn't someone tried casting Seth Rogan and Steve Carrol in a campy remake? IIRC, there was an attempt by Sci-fi channel to redo the "series" and I could have sworn I saw an episode, but noooooooo.... we are going to stick with something that Sam Worthington can do and he hasn't been able to make the transition into "comedy" like that guy from 300. Ah well. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

To me, Max von Sydow will always be King Osric. _________________ Context is everything. |

Hmmm... if my math is accurate, I was 9-10 when that movie came out and it was before cable. Thus, for me, he will always be Ming. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |
