Uber zergling rush backed up by ultralisks, hell yeah, but there would ahve to be a mian character, it couldn't just put a camera above Mengsk's stronghold and watch as the zerg try to pound in on the doors as Kerrigan slips in garrots all the guards and opens the doors for them... _________________

There IS a movie based on the game... its called Aliens
Seriously, look at the similarities - Click on a marine enough and he will eventually say "How do I get out of this chicken #$@% outfit?" or click on the dropship (which looks like the dropship from the movie, I must say) enough times and the pilot (Who looks exactly like Farro I might add as well) will say "We're in the pipe, five by five"
And marines, on colonies, fighting aliens? Mwahahah, I rule. _________________ Needing is Wanting

That's part of the point, though; one of the most fun aspects of Blizzard RTS's is the inside jokes that you hear when you click on units often enough. If only they made a Diablo game like that... _________________ Grrrr...RAAAAARRRGHHH!!!

Well there kind of is some of that in Diablo. Try clicking on the cows standing about in Tristram, a little bit to the right from the cathedral. _________________ bitchez n hose |

I too after watching aliens for the idontknowhowmany time noticed these ressemblances, it's basically a bit like avp, except, avpvh or zvpvh zerg being the aliens, protoss being the predator (weird wrist balde thingy) and the humans being themselves. _________________ Cogito Ergo Sum....Bitch.

Well as an expert at the game and extreme fan of blizzard (i want to work for them 1 day!) i think tht starcraft was the thing tht really inspired AvP, plus i noticed the voice links quite early too. The only difference between aliens and zerg is tht the things the zerg infest usually explode lol! _________________ Possess everthing! EVEN XENOS AND PREDS! MUHAHAHAHA. ALL SHALL BE MINE! |

You're thinking of Diablo 2. I'm talking about Diablo, where the town of Tristram was still busy and populated, with a smith carrying enough magic metal to outfit several armies and a rotten little shitbag with a wooden leg.
And on the Zerg being like Aliens issue?
...well I guess so. They do share some similarities, especially with the zerglings. They also like to cover their immediate terroritory with a lot of icky muck. And they both have queens, 'cept the zerg queen really doesn't do much queening. AND! Yes, and! And they both have a knack for copying and absorbing aspects of other creatures, although the zerg process seems to be a bit more thorough and permanent. Aliens just have an "instant coffee, just add water" version of it.
Here's a thought. What if you had a nice, fairly habitable planet and put a zerg hive on the other side and an alien queen(with a fair number of hosts, if local wildlife isn't within convenient range) on the other. Eventually a big, nasty fight, of course, but who'd win?
Discuss. _________________ bitchez n hose |

Really? What happens with the cows in Diablo? I only have the Shareware demo, so I'm not sure if it's there. I know that in Diablo II they blow up and take out a third of your health, plus the Secret Cow Level, but Gheed seems to be the only other thing remotely amusing in the game.
Yeah, Wirt; greedy little b*****d. _________________ Grrrr...RAAAAARRRGHHH!!!

If I remember correctly, they just mooooo. Starcraft was an alright game back in the day, but I haven't played it in years. Maybe if a movie would have came out when it was at it's highest popularity, it would be good. But, now it just seems sorta pointless. _________________

They go moo a few times and then your character exclaims that he, or she isn't thirsty, nor a milkmaid. _________________ bitchez n hose |

I'm not sure about that one. I remember watching an interview with paul anderson, and he was saying that AvP was destined to be made since we saw the alien skull in Predator 2. And also, If I remember correctly alien vs predator comics were out even before starcraft. _________________ Cogito Ergo Sum....Bitch.

If you cant see the similarities between the species you must be as thick as a plank of wood.
LOOK!
Aliens Zerg:
Both have hive mind, Both use other species to create their own warriors(If you dont understand the zerg part of this Infested terrans and the booklet in the original starcraft box) They both have slavering and deadly warriors with big nasty teeth and large heads(Hydralisk) They both dont use technology.
Predator Protoss:
Both have a civilisation based on honour and schtuf, The basic look of both of them their face and such, Wristblades/plasmablades ON wrist, Both have Dreads(YES THE PROTOSS HAVE DREADS), Both use cloaking, tech and plasma, both hunt/fight the other non-advanced alien, The ship from AvP look Veeery similar to the Carriers from Starcraft.
See I told ya so. |

I totaly agree about the pred/protoss, but the alien, I do see some ressemblances like the hive, the eggs, but I don't agree with you about needing other people to breed, like the infested marines...that just has nothing to do with ressemblances. _________________ Cogito Ergo Sum....Bitch.

What?!?
For that particular breed they do need people to infest and infact all the different er.... spawns? need a host creature. If you read the story behind the zerg in the Starcraft booklet thing it actually says that the different variances came from different creatures assimilated into the hive and then warped and changed, like you know adding spikes here or giant throttling blades there. |
