Ah ok. Well, it did kinda smell like paint stripper at first, but I'm pretty sure it was real wodka. Especially since I bought it a club. _________________

That just tastes like cough syrup. And it makes me extremely jolly. As in "laugh-about-everything-like-your-high-as-a-kite"-jolly. _________________

I am more of a scotch fanatic, but on the topic of Jagermeister, Jager Bombs are pretty good, get pretty hammered with them _________________ "When I get home... I am going to do so much fucking cocaine..." |

The Yankees can't beat the Red Sox this year. They are also playing like crap against the Mets. I'm getting a little irritated at Nick Swisher. Granted he has been playing spectacular given his talent, but he's been making some bone-head plays in the field. Likewise, Brett Gardener. I'm I big fan of Brett -- he is one of the first players in several years that gives the Yankees some speed. He made a poor throw in last nights game and he really needs to do better than that since his batting leaves something to be desired of. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

The raki I have been drinking with my good friends during our dinner at my place made me pissed. Friends have gone. The dishes stayed. That pissed me off. _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

@Munan. Isn't it normal practice to do the wash up after dinner in someone else's house? I think you should send out a memo. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Well, it sort of went like everybody offered to help do the dishes, but only did so whispering behind the palm of their hands, with one foot already outside the door, and before I could say yes they alread left. I think my oriental hospitality somewhat clashes with Dutch rudeness here. They offer to do the dishes and I say "you don't have to" but then I sort of half expect them to insist, which an Indonesian or Arab would do, so that the second or third time you say yes.
But a Dutchman says, shall I do the dishes, and when the answer is you don't have to, they go like, alrighty then, and leave. _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

That's why I never offer to do the dishes. Because I know the other person will say that while actually hoping I will do them. _________________

I actually prefer that other people don't wash my dishes. Several people that I know only wash the eating surface and not the entire dish, which completely disgusts me, and I have to rewash the dishes anyway. _________________ "Yeast devil! Back to the oven that baked you!" |

i'd never think of expecting a guest to help me with the dishes. it's natural in Poland that it's the host's job to do it, preferably after the guests have gone (but it's okay to wash some if you've run out of clean dishes in the middle of the dinner).
and we would only offer to help do the dishes only to the closest friends, with whom we're on family-like terms. _________________ i have no time for anal love

Generally when we have dinner parties, everyone mucks in a bit with the cooking and the washing up after. Probably just part of the Irish tendency to gravitate to the kitchen whenever there's a gathering... _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Yeah, I'd say it's pretty similar for us, but on this party, everybody had cooked (pretty Irish, I would say after reading Aurelyn's post). If it's one of those parties where I cook for everybody, I would never expect people to do the dishes. _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

Really? At home we sorta have this rule that the one who cooks doesn't have to do the dishes. _________________

Yes. They're bad for the environment.

We have a dishwasher at home. It's about 6 feet tall, has a ginger beard and it feeds on alcohol and the souls of stillborn babies. _________________
