Is anyone going to check out the new Bond film? It certainly looks good, but trailers can never justify the quality of a film. The folks in the UK thought it was good, but Casino Royale was still better. That would be a hard movie to overcome... _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

I might, if friends have the time for it. So far the reviews have been lukewarm however. So were the trailers, actually. Actually I think I'll wait until any over-hype settles and then I'll start considering. _________________

It was the biggest, most disappointing pile of shite I've ever seen. An hour into the movie I was looking at my watch wondering when it was going to end. A Bond movie certainly doesn't have to have a great plot, amazing characters and stellar acting to be good, but the one thing it absolutely cannot be is boring. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

i second that.
and to add some spice to it, this was, believe or not, the first ever Bond movie i've seen in a theater. all because of Casino Royale, which i saw very recently (monday?) and i thought it was terrific. absolutely terrific, the most enjoyable Bond ever by far.
logically, i couldn't wait to see Quantum, and two days later i did. holy massive disappointment, batman!
and it's exactly what Aurelyn says. it's not that the movie's too stupid to endure, that it has too irritating characters, or that the plot has too many holes. it's just that it's plain old boooooriiiiing. _________________ i have no time for anal love

That's what I was expecting when I saw the trailers. Seems I'm not wasting my cash on a theatre ticket for this one. _________________

So should I pass this Bond flick? I mean Casino Royale was an outstanding film and one of my favorite Bond films, right after From Russia With Love. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

It was quite confusing many times throughout the film. I guess the action was good, but the film didn't really bring in anything unique to the franchise. Daniel Craig did pretty well and helped emphasize that the of Bond today is really cold and brutal, but that performance can not carry this film alone.
It wasn't bad, just lacked alot of things that made the other Bond films good. It certainly was not a Moonraker(bad) , but not a Goldeneye(good) either.
I'm still debating between a 6 and a 7 out of 10. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

wait, you're calling Goldeneye good?
lordy, lordy, compared to that pile of doodoo, Quantum was almost fascinating (yes, definitely not a Brosnan fan here). _________________ i have no time for anal love

I actually think Goldeneye was pretty awesome. It still has the feel of the old James Bond (as in no cell phones with fucking nukes in 'em or any other technological advanced shit) but it was made with more advanced filming techniques.
Anyway, to each his own. _________________

I liked Goldeneye myself. The post-Goldeneye Brosnan's... not so much. Chasing down cars in a tank is still manly, in my opinion. _________________

Good point.
Then again, doing pretty much anything in a tank is manly.
I bet you could even shave your legs and paint your toe nails in a tank, and still have a pair. _________________

Alec Trevelyan is one of my favorite Bond villains. He had a pretty epic name, too.
Plus chasing after the Bond Girl in a tank has got to be the highlight of Brosnan's career.
That film also revealed Brois was not actually invincible, and that Xenia did indeed "like a good squeeze". _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

I love it. It wasn't as good as Casino Royale, but anyone who thinks Quantum is a bad movie is a moron, as far as I am concerned.
