alright, it's on. never heard of it, but i promise to check it out and get back to you afterwards. since Colin Farell redeemed himself as an actor in Cassandra's Dream i reckon i don't risk that much. _________________ i have no time for anal love

In my opinion, this movie had "it all" (Seriously. It even has a midgit). Whereas Dewey was funny at times, the overall movie didn't carry. THIS movie does, at least for me. You are free to disagree and I welcome you to take some time and outline something for me and the Wiff. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

hey, cfos, i kept my word.
watched In Bruges earlier this week.
you were so right about it - it's awfully good in its surreal kinda way.
the actors are all doing an excellent job, Colin is amazing, but so are Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes (is he the best man to play psycho killers around? yes, he is.), and the midget's role is like a cherry on top of that cake.
and the city itself - fascinating! after watching it, me and The Future made a promise to ourselves that we will no matter what go and see Bruges with our own eyes one time, so the impact was undeniable.
as to our little disagreement, i don't think we can really compare the two movies. i still consider Walk Hard a minor classic, for the reasons i've stated before, but i gladly admit that In Bruges deserves a similar spot. _________________ i have no time for anal love

Glad y'all enjoyed it Sal. I agree with everything you've said. Re: our differing opinions, yeah, hard to compare the two being that they are so "different". I bear you no ill will if you continue to like/love Walk Hard. Just be careful if you want to use those songs in your wedding! _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

I figured these photos don't really belong anywhere else.
I give you - Sal In Bruges: Chasing The Movie
I'm sitting at the very bench Colin Farrel and Brendan Gleeson were sitting during the "what's-a-lollipop-man-doing-knowing-fucking-karate?" dialogue. facing the same canal, no less. alongside the canal a glimpse of the fucking cobbled streets and old fucking buildings of this fairytale fucking town.
behind me the Basilica of The Holy Blood, where yours truly paid respect to the phial containing Christ's blood, like Brendan Gleeson would want me to.
a nice nightly shot of the Belfort Tower, where Brendan Gleeson had that momentous conversation with Ralph Fiennes, and where the elephant family failed to climb (of course we were to the top, it's only got three-hundred-something steps.)
One gay beer for my gay friend, and one normal beer for me 'cause I'm normal.
(in reality, due to the content both are gay beers, but I just couldn't resist the deliciousness of the Kriek. incidentally, this is the exact same pub where Colin Farrel uttered the words above; my girlfriend's elbow completes the compostion.)
this is the spot in the park where Colin Farrel was sitting, pondering on his fate...
...and this is the bower, behind which Brendan Gleeson was lurking at the same moment.
Among the countless shapes of Belgian chocolates you can find these beauties. I had no guts to put one in my mouth, though.
I'll stop here, not to spam this place down completely. I want to thank the town of Bruges for being such a fairytale fucking town, cfos for tipping me off about the movie, which was why I thought of going there in the first place, and anyone else who cares for caring. _________________ i have no time for anal love

Because everybody knows that in a pose like that, you're supposed to hold the weapon in plain sight for the viewer, but obscured for the target. _________________

Nice. The Wiff and me are getting close to our 90k miles on Delta. Likely Bruges will be on the 90k list while the more... popular cities bump up to 200k miles! _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |
