No link?
Anyway, what the hell. Everyone is trying to rejuvenate old franchises now. Die Hard, Rambo, Rocky, Indy, etc.
I think it's a fucking disgrace. _________________

Well Simon, you may or may not be aware but Die Hard 4, Rambo, and Rocky Balboa were all really great movies.
Hell, Indiana Jones: KotCS wasn't even that bad, it just wasn't really "indy" like.
But yah, I'm also afraid that they will soil the franchise by making another AvP style brainless action flicks. The alien movies are not brainless action flicks and that is why AvP and its sequel fail. _________________ You forget one thing: rock crushes scissors. But paper covers rock... and

Well, of all those movies, I think Rocky Balboa was the only one that was actually really decent and added to the franchise. Die Hard 4 was only okay, and Indy was shite. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

We should get a good horror writer writing the script. Like... uhm... Stephen King. Or Benicio Del Toro. Or H.P. Lovecraft. _________________

Getting HP Lovecraft to write it would be a neat trick. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Indeed. I'm not so much giving Hollywood shit for rejuvenating old franchises with crap movies, I thought Die Hard 4 was great. I'm giving them shit for rejuvenating old franchises, period. They should be coming up with new material, new franchises, not the same old shit. That's one of the reasons I love Pixar so much, they always pushed the boundaries of imagination and creativity.
But meh, Hollywood will make whatever will pay them, and the masses are all clamoring for more of the same. _________________

Well, if it was more of the same it wouldn't be a bad thing. If it's the same in a whole new jacket that doesn't fit, it's bad. _________________

BUT ITS ALIEN 5!!!!!1 i mean ok they have fucked up other franchises (NOT the ones listed abobe) but think about it Ridley Scott is going to coo-direct it with James Cameron and this ainīt that post 10 years ago that talked about the chance. They actually showed it on TV news in Spain! So this time its for real: Fox wants 1 more of each franchise Alien AND AvP (sorry Pred 3 Fans not yet but i hope soon!) _________________ Believe it or not god exists

They're still rejuvinating all these movies just to milk cash from it. If the first goal of any film is the profit, it's simply doomed to failure.
Alien 5 is simply an effort to squeeze the last drops from that cash cow. I love the Alien saga, hence I'm not going to support the assholes who green lighted this idea by buying tickets or dvds.
Hopefully this franchise reanimating frenzy we're experiencing will be over soon. _________________

| Funny thing is, Ridley Scott and Sigourney Weaver want to do it, and last I heard, Fox isn't letting them do it. |

In my opinion, sequels should only be made if they are better or just anywhere near as good as the original.
I don't mind a fifth Alien film, so long as it's just as good as the originals (Alien, Aliens).

A sequel to that film is either an interesting, or a really bad idea. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

Well, you'd think after the general negative reviews of the past 4 films (Alien 3, Alien Ressurection, AvP, AvP:R), they may try something new... _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

Wait...what? Benicio Del Toro is an actor, not a horror writer. H.P. Lovecraft has been dead for over 70 years. _________________ "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use."

I bet he was actually taken by some inpercievable entity from an outer-dimension. The Necronomicon was likely involved. And portals. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.
