And the evil that was once vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk among the innocent, and terror shall consume they that dwell upon the earth. The skies will rain fire, and the seas will become as blood. The righteous will fall before the wicked, and all creation will tremble before the burning standards of hell.

Hell has apparently frozen over again. They're making another one. Also be sure to click the gem 666 times.

I am filled with excitement at the thought of the game but also with despair because I will probably not get a chance to play it.

Also, that site is slow.

Azrael-tastic!

I got fed up of waiting for the page to open yesterday. I'll try again in a few days when every sweaty-pitted gimboid in the world isn't trying to load up the site.

Yeah, the site crashed my browser quite a few times. I'd actually like to see Blizzard working on some new creative material for once, but then again, they've always been creative with taking previous creations in new and exciting directions. Just compare Warcraft II to the original, or even Warcraft III to Warcraft II.

I'm enthusiastic with Blizzard's art direction with both Diablo III and Starcraft II. Although I can appreciate überrealism, I think graphics should really only be used to build the setting and character of a game. Team Fortress 2 really nailed that point. What I've seen with Blizzard's current projects suggest that although they may not be so technically advanced or demanding, they're going to be somthing I'm definately going to stare for hours at. I want everyone to know I want that funky mouthgard Darth Malak had for Christmas, since I expect my jaw will only become a hindrance once I dive into these games.

My only fear is that Blizzard will simply go for 'old school' gameplay here. I mean, they revolutionized every genre they touched. Perfection of the original winning formulas is certainaly an admirable goal, but I think it'd be a shame if they didn't bring somthing new to the gaming world, which is somthing that looks more and more likely with every demo I see.

Well, time will tell.

That's weird, site works fine for me.
I'm not sure about this one. I've never gotten crazy over games like this. First one was great though.

Nah, it was way too obvious what I was talking about. Wink

In contrast to Simon, I hope that they keep the realistic graphics, and I would also appreciate it if they didn't do anything radical with the gameplay.

doesnt look like theyve changed any of the gameplay too drasticly, just
added a physics engine (or whatever its actualy called) among a few
other things, looks quite cool though, looks like it still has some of the
good ol' diablo 1 and 2 feel to it though

I'm sure they'll release it in an expansion. Or someone'll mod it.

Or somthing.

I was looking forward to creating a new "You are a Thread Necromancer" image.

I'm actually a little confused with this here. Are you deriding or supporting the current graphics style they're using? Cause I was all for it. Could be a little darker though. I'm also not asking for somthign radical, just innovative so that there's some new blood in the genre.

The current graphics style looks pretty good. I just really like the more realistic looking graphics--I don't want to see anything cartoonish for this one. I suppose I like the dark, gritty look of the original Diablo.

I think that we need some games with a simple interface like the Diablo series. Yes, I imagine that there will be some new features, but I hope that they don't mess with a tried and true formula.

Ps.- What the hell happens if you click the jewel 666 times? Nothing happened with me.

There wont be a necromancer. It wouldn't make any sense. The witch doctor already fills the bring-back-from-deadey, cursey & boney role. It wouldn't make sense to jam in another character like that.

Unless of course they've gone completely WoW with this and Necromancer will be included, only now he works like a druidadin and is a young woman.

Let me be the first in here to wave around the ugly flag propability say that DIABLO 3 WILL SUCK. IT'LL BE WOW LITE. FUCK YOU.

Well, I found this image on some website a couple days ago which I can't find anymore. Something tells me Digit might be on to something here.

*Edit* Ah, Here we go.

Oh do not get me started on this bullcrap. A few idiots who aren't happy with anything started bitching about the graphics. Everyone else who is bitching now, never was until the they listened to the whiners!

Everone's initial reaction to Diablo 3 was "omg it looks like Diablo 2 only better." And now that a few idiots gave people a reason to moan about it, they intend to.

When the graphics lead resigned, Gamecentral's headline was 'Emo kids and fanboys are celebrating in their parents' basements the world over'. It made me laugh.

That's funny Very Happy. But the only reason he resigned is because of that stupid-ass petition.
