Somehow I wasn't impressed. Okay, let's have some [sex] and some [violence] with a [vigilante] who is [dark and edgy] with [trippy cinematography] to make it interesting. _________________

I wasn't that impressed. Reminds me of Dick Tracy. Hopefully, this movie will be good, but I'm guessing in will be like Val Kilmer's The Saint. An ok film. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

Well it's based on an old newspaper comic strip, that had a story arc. It eventually grew out and became a full-fledged graphic novel series.
But anyways, the main character is a ressurected rookie cop, a revenant of sorts, hence his name, "The Spirit". He is very acrobatic, athletic, and very charismatic. He falls in love with every woman he meets, and they love him equally back. His nemises is The Octopus, a mysterious figure who kills anyone who sees his face.
This is a work from Frank Miller, so it has alot of Sin City influences, but this is more of a surrealistc film noir, rather than its grungy and harsh counterpart.
Anyways, I'm captivated by its flashy sequences. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

Frank Miller? Um...the late, great Will Eisner created "The Spirit". _________________ "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use."

The movie's Miller's. Watched it again, still not impressed. But I bet it's going to be a popular hit as big as 300, since whats better than tons of violence? Tons of teh Sexorz! _________________

Saw it today, qhite different on what I actually expected. It has similar a art direction that was in Sin City, but the plot was much more straightforward. It was over the top in many scenes and had some pretty memorable dialogue, because alot of it was really campy.
When you watch it, don't take it seriously, it is a movie. I liked it. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.
