I did. Last night. 20:30 2 July 2007.
I'm glad I kept my expectations low. Because they were smashed easily. It was only not perfect because Michael Bay directed. His nausea inducing action photography almost ruined it for me.
The characterizations of the Autobots were spot-on. Not so much for being like the cartoons, which they were but more grown up, but for being exactly what was needed to make the movie work. Peter Cullen doing Prime's voice, and doing it so much better than he did in the series, made it all it needed to be for me for it to be the muthafuckin' Transformers.
Brilliant. _________________ "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use."

It was amazing. My fist hurts because I was clenching my seat during the ENTIRE movie. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

| Expectations were also low for me and I was pleasantly surprised. I understand that GM paid big bucks for the publicity, but having Jazz as a Pontiac...?? |

Spoiler: Dude, who cares what kind of car Jazz was! HE GOT RIPPED IN HALF BY MEGATRON. I was like omg, the children are watching.
Plus his lasts words were: "You want a piece of me?" The black guy died first, as always (if you forget about the Decepticons. |

It was good, but there were a lot of things wrong with it, mainly with just the humans. First off, Defcon Delta? Defcon is represented by numbers, not by letters. Second, everyone in the movie after an hour in seemed to know everything about everything or felt it necessary that everyone hear their input. Like on the cargo plane with the little tail, what made everyone on the plane think that their input was necessary or even wanted while that scientist was explaining its regenerative abilities? Why were there army infantry and air force captains finding it so necessary to pull weapons on all the S7 guys when not one of them even really knows if "the car" is of any help whatsoever or what it has to do with "losing isn't really an option for these guys." Sure, the midnight release was good, when you're tired and the movie is out of focus and the sound is all screwy, because most of the movie is left to your imagination, but going to see it a second time, with high expectations, you tend to see every single mistake made, right down the inconsistency of the robots behavior. I'll have more to point out tonight, but I have to be getting to work, so i bid you adieu. _________________

'Twas eh-mazing.
Spoiler: | I'm glad they didn't focus too much on Shia's school life. It was right down to the action, and every time one of the autobots (or decepticons) transformed from vehicle to regular, it was awexome. Can't wait for the sequel, too. They certainly left alot of material for a sequel. Starscream, for one, wasn't killed. He blended in with the rest of the jet squad when they were in the city. And plus, Megatron didn't explode into oblivion. And, Optimus found that shard of the all-spark in Megatron's chest, so come on, there has to be a sequel. |

I saw it. It was cool. I was a total G1 Fanboy when I was ten-eleven so it was cool. Some fanboys needs to grow up; the blockiness is okay for the cartoon, but if it was used in the movie it would be an even bigger pile of shit than they claim it is.
Rumours say that Inferno, the real Devestator, and Long Haul might be in one of the two sequels. Shia has signed on for two sequels I think. |

I...I hate to say it, but I really liked the movie. It was a HELL of a lot better than I expected, and they really did justice to most of the characters. Soundwave and Scorpinok were totally my faves. I loved how Soundwave was completely fuckin' nuts, and the scene where he has an orgasm with the US database made me laugh my nuts off.
However, it wasn't all good. They didn't explain where Scorpinok went at the end of the movie. He just dissapeared (...that giant metal scorpion...it dissapeared...) and they didn't explain where he went like they did with Starscream. The constant "more than meets the eye" puns were beyond irritating. And, the biggest dissapointment was not, unlike I expected, Micheal Bay's sickening camerawork. It was the final battle between Optimus and Megatron. Fuck, that sucked so much ass. They fought for like, thirty seconds, and half the time you couldn't even tell who was who. That really made the film's quality drop, if you ask me.
Overall, 7/10. Worth going to see, even if you're not Transformers fan. _________________ I'm outtie, y'all. Lates. |

There was a plot?
But I just like quoting that... which can be seen since this is the first post I make in this thread were I'm not quoting it... _________________
