I still think fondly of the old text-games from the Spectrum, like The Hobbit. More recently, the old platformers from the C64, Turrican in particular, which I think still has to be the best platform game ever created, and early PC games like Lemmings and Commander Keen. RPGs like Richard Garriot's Ultima series (which is still going I think), while visually they may not hold up anymore, but they still kick the pants off most modern RPGs for plot and storytelling.. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

With the magic of emulators, all these games have now returned to us, now if only some genius would create and sell controllers for said emulators... _________________

Not talking bout just controllers, i meant recreations of the Sega Genesis, NES, and SNES controllers (which are the most common emulated games) _________________

Scorched Earth one of the all time greats!
Man, I just got an Amiga500 emulator working, and I've been playing Turrican for the last hour... I'd forgotten what a great part of my teenage years that game was! _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Trash-80 sounds about right. I do forget... did TRS stand for The Radio Shack?
I'd still play Scortched Earth if I could find it. Is it still out there? |

Yeh, I actually had donkey kong in it's very first version.
That nintendo LCD hand held thingy. was some kind of pocket thing you could open up, had two screens, and it was always 1 game. Had a whole box of those. Safe to say that those things were at the origin of home gaming platforms. _________________ Back in action |

My cousins had an Atari 2600. I used to love Combat.
I was one of the three or four people who owned a Sega Master System. I had Choplifter, Hang-On, Space Harrier and The Ninja.
My friend down the street had a NES. We played Metal Gear, Metroid, Super Mario Bros., Kid Icarus, RC Pro/Am, Top Gun, lots of others I can't remember.
I was always a classic arcade kid, though. Chuck E. Cheese had all the best ones back in the day!
Tron
Donkey Kong
Qix
Centipede
Joust
Elevator Action
Zaxxon
Crazy Climber

Don't forget Road Blasters, Smiley.
Also, Space Harrier was one of those games that I got when I was very young that took me several years to win.
