"I was talking about girlfriends, not wives. I'll never trade you for anything."
Aww...Twue Wove... I didn't read anything below that statement. Of course, I'd trade a few things to know my neighbor's secret o success.

I don't know if I'd look more stupid in a Porsche or a Ferrari. Probably the Ferrari. _________________ "Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love." - Albert Einstein |

Well, the advantage of that is that you know exactly what makes you tick... so it's like the ultimate way to have sex. Personally, I'd never clone myself for that reason... I'd clone myself just so I have someone I can play Killzone with... _________________

That reminds me. Back in the day, there were some 2-player games for the SMS that were pretty hard, like Quartet or Time Soldiers. I always wanted to win them on 2-player mode, but I didn't know anyone who was as good at them as I was. I always wanted to clone myself for that reason. _________________ Context is everything. |

That reminds me of the Angry Nintendo Nerd movie where he clones 3 of himself and plays a 4 player game for the NES _________________

The only reason I would clone myself was if the money in my pocket was cloned too. Then I would just kill the clones. If they refuse, it would be Ep. II all over again, but in a far, far away house.
Other than that, cloning myself would be absolutely stupid. |

But... if it is a clone of you... wouldn't the clone want to do the exact same thing as you? *L* |

People are largely a blank slate when they are born in terms of attitude, personality, characteristics, and the like, but some genes play a big role. I heard of a case where a pair of twins in America were actually split up at birth and they both turned out as firefighters when they grew up. Heck, me and my twin brother are majoring in the same things. So, genes also plays a big role so there would be some similarities between your clone and you.
Thinking about this issue makes me think of the movie The Island where the older the generation of clones gets, it turns out at the end of the movie, the more real memories from their real counterparts they get all of a sudden. So would a clone have the same memories as the real person he/she is cloned from? _________________ "Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love." - Albert Einstein |

Yeah, yeah.. I've heard loads of stories where separate twins have had husbands with the same name, or experienced feelings at the same time, or had their hair a certain way in high school.
Too many of them that I'm starting to wonder how many of them are actually true.
But if twins separated have similar personalities, how do you explain twins that live together -- my younger brothers for example -- that have completely different personalities?
Oh, and to answer your question, if you think about how human cloning is done (possibly the same way they made Dolly the sheep) then no, the clone wouldn't have the same memories. _________________ Yours Queen of Cloud 9

"So you believe behavior is inherited? I don't... to some extent."
To some extent, yes. I think some professional breeders would agree to some extent especially when it comes to an animal's disposition. However, I'm not going to go all out on the "nature" side. Likewise, I don't know if I am going to go ahead and agree with Koko on the whole "tabula rasa" concept. Here is my opinion: At the time of cloning, a given cell should have the "blueprint" to design an entire being. Up to a point, said memories, experiences, etc., that may have resulted in cellular change from the point of the given cell's birth should also be present in this cell and some things (proteins, etc.,) would likely be replicated in the clone. This is not to say that the clone will have the same memories, for I believe memory is more complex than just saying "hippocampus" and "long-term potentiation", but much like Koko demonstrated with his example, tendencies would correlate well between a clone and the original if put in similar situations. |

No obsession. Just jumping from forum wives to bird sex to penguins in trees to cloning yourself for a threesome to just... cloning. And behavior.

In combination with Spock's thread on human cloning...

The inheritance of a predisposition towards a certain type of behaviour is a separate issue from evolution. Unless of course that behaviour increased one's fitness in some way... _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Yeah, that's what I said. Unless I chose the wrong word.
It's because nowadays, humans are more fragile and act more civilized. Were they like that before? Maybe, probably a smart-ass of the group. And maybe that smart-ass is responsible for us today.
Crazy but possible. |

I'm beginning to have doubts about the wives of this here forum. They tend to come around every two weeks or so... All I can make of this is that they are being unfaithful, as in they've found another forum. Love triangle? Incest? Debauchery? _________________ "Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love." - Albert Einstein |
