Um. So.
I really dig William Shatner. Okay? I really like the character James. T. Kirk and some of those other ones(lol, bad at names) and I'm propably one of the very few who actually like the way he just sorta talks in his songs. I have a live size anatomically correHELLO.
HA HA. JOKULARITY.
I have a lot of his songs(most of which, I think, are cover songs actually) on my hard drive. I know how to do the Rocketman bit by heart.
A friend of mine told me this was super creepy and not just a little gay.
Now, the standard nerd reaction and defense here would be a long, maddoxesque rant, that mainly circles around how I'm not the one who's gonna be bagging groceries* and working at gas stations in a few years.***
Not mine though. Actually, I'm kind of worried. Is it?
*This actually bothers me. Do americans really have this? Some guy just bagging your groceries? What the fuck is wrong with you? Are you really this apathetic?
If you're in a supermarket, or just some grocery store and some guy comes to bag your groceries for you and YOU LET HIM, I need to talk to you. Mister Electric Cattleprod will accompany us.**
**Unless you're like a chick and it's just some dude who you know likes you, and basically does it to suck up, it's kinda okay. I mean sure, this makes you Queen Bitch of Cuntanasia, but it'd be expected of you. It is behavior typical to your established archetype. So I will let that one fly.****
***If you think this is a stab towards some of the folks here at the forum, you'd be completely wrong.
It's a stab towards almost all of you.
****My footnotes are bigger than my actual main post. I bet this is what Terry Prattchet feels like. _________________ bitchez n hose |

People get paid to bag groceries. I wouldn't want to get in the way of somebody providing helpful service in return for a wage. Well, actually, I would, but that's only because I know that I can do a better job than the average bagger. _________________ Context is everything. |

okay, i really wanted to take up the debate here, but i got lost.
how exactly did we get from Shat's singing to grocery baggers, where's the missing link in the logical flow of the post, and what does it make me if i didn't get it the first time? a future grocery bagger, possibly? _________________ i have no time for anal love

I'm offering you a wide selection of topics. Not everybody knows about everything, so there's something for everyone.
The main question being whether Shatner fandom is super creepy. _________________ bitchez n hose |

ah.
no. no, it isn't.
no creepier or, for that matter, gayer than Rocky Horror Show fandom. or indeed Prince fandom.
although my personal fandoms would probably qualify me as super creepy in the eyes of abovementioned friend of yours. _________________ i have no time for anal love

Ah. Thanks.
I just.
I just needed that. The reassurance. It might not be obvious, but I'm very insecure.
Also, who is this Teh character and why did I need to know that? _________________ bitchez n hose |

Shatner fandom is awesome. I actually kinda hate you everytime you have an avatar that is not the Captain's Furry Chest.
To tell you the truth, there are a few guys I always like to pretend I get off on (first one to say "Oh yeah? "Pretend"?" will be slapped) and these are Bruce Willis, Johnny Depp and Shatner. Yeah, I'm weird... but aren't we all.
Also, is it just me or does bagging your groceries sound very... sexual-ish.
Also, I'm drunk, don't mind me.

That reminds me of something that Tony Cipriani said in GTA: Liberty City Stories.

I do agree with Aramor about the Shatner avatar. There's just something wrong if it's replaced by something other. His chest beard is just hypnotic. You could skin him alive, don't know why alive, and make a hide from his chest. _________________ "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" |

There's nothing gay about your avatar or your Shatner obsession.
Neither is there anything gay about loving the Pet Shop Boys or being very concerned with Justin Timberlake's and Robie Williams' next moves.
Also, there is absolutely nothing gay about this(<-- clicky) video.
There is nothing gay about Aramor's latest sequence of avatars.
It's all very, very straight. _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

Homophobes. What good is a world where two guys can't pretend to try and make out through their motorcycle helmets in front of the rest of the Elite Color Guard while lounging in the Officers Room? _________________

I hoped I never had to see that picture again. It's just way tooo. It's slimey. I love watching naked men but that one just doesn't do me anything. It's beyond gay.

Well, considering the fact that you probably have breasts, I think though he might be more beautiful than you, you're still more attractive as far as I'm concerned...

Yeah ok, probably stuff about naked guys, but what is it about? Just pictures of dudes in the buff or is there lots of text? _________________

That doesn't seem fair. Just because a ripped guy is standing in a flowerbed with a halo of light surrounding him, that doesn't make him gay. Don't we all like to engage in a bit of nimbus-enhanced flower-frolicking from time to time? _________________ Context is everything. |

"This actually bothers me. Do americans really have this? Some guy just bagging your groceries? What the fuck is wrong with you? Are you really this apathetic?"
Actually, bagging groceries wasn't the worst job. I'd have much rather been bagging groceries than having to be "cart-boy" and collect all the shopping carriages from the parking lot. As for being apathetic, I don't know why I should be expected to tip waiters/tresses in France for smoking. Yes, I get it: A meal lasts 19 hours so that you can suck up the ambience of being in a cutesy french restuarant with tiny portions of extremely buttered food... But seriously, I don't need to wait 30 minutes in between courses. Also, is it too much to as one of the said help to actually have checked on the diners during that 30 minute period? Odds are, if they DID, they would have gotten another 3-5 Euro for one more 100 ml bottle of water. Yes, yes, I know... they were too busy smoking. I tell you, that's one hell of a job -- to be paid (and tipped) to smoke. To me, expecting to get a tip for such lack of service is pretty apathetic -- for me than having the service (not the lack thereof) of having my groceries bagged. While I'm at it -- Hey FRENCHIES! Install AIR CONDITIONING IN YOUR MOVIE THEATERS!!!! THEN, TURN ON THE AIR CONDITIONINER! A movie theatre should not feel like stepping out on the streets of New Orleans (LA) in July. Pun intended. |
