ya, ya if the an alien managed to kill 2 preds and in the avp movie the predators got their asses kicked quite badlly that doesn't mean that the aliens will win the war!!!!!!!!!!1 Very Happy

I'm on the side of the Preds all the way. That's why it always makes me so sad that they always fricken' die at the end of the story. The comics, the movies, etc. Even when they're the good guys, they die. Dachande!! Why did you leave us?? You were awesome!! Weep!!

i'm on with aliens. sure, they have no projectile weapons but their speed and agility makes up for that. they're natural weapons themselves.

and if anyone wants to slice and dice a xenomorph up close, be prepared for acid blood. hehe =D

Here's my $0.02...

The Predators are a warrior race that take pretty much their only joy in the honor and sport of "the hunt." The Klingon lover in me respects that, and finds their culture fascinating. Also, from a Hollywood perspective, that makes the Predator the sure winner because they actually have a more understandable motivation and culture and thus would be considered by us human xenophobes to be the lesser of the two evils. The Aliens, on the other hand, are pretty much alive for two reasons: to kill and to reproduce. This sort of mindless violence that they exhibit means that they become the "bad guys" in this situation.

If you want to look at things from a tactical perspective, the xenos have the advantage even with all of the Preds' sophisticated weaponry. The xenos have sheer numbers. Their reproduction rate is uber-fast and so they can easily overwhelm their opponents with numbers. Secondly, power and ammo for the Preds' weapons and gadgets has to run out at some point, and then they're stuck with wristblades. Now, apparently Anderson didn't do enough homework when he was making the movies, because he really glossed over the fact that the xenos' blood is _concentrated molecular acid_. Sure he showed stuff getting eaten by the acid, but it wasn't strong enough. I'm sure I don't need to remind you Alien fans that in the other movies the blood eats through several floors of metal deck platting really really quickly. Basically, each Pred would get one shot with a wristblade on any xeno and after that one hit, the wristblade would be completely eaten away. This leaves the Preds weaponless and sitting ducks for the rest of the multitudes of xenos to move in and take out like it's just another day at the office.

Therefore my verdict is movie: Preds, any sort of reality: xenos.

What do you guys think btw, would the Pred's have soldiers? And if so, would they be much different than the hunters? Personally, I would really like to see 500 Pred's with guns marching towards the enemy or sumtin... then again, I have a thing for marching army's... *puts on Hell March*

As far as the whole strength of the acid thing goes, I couldn’t agree more. Anderson had no sense of how acidic their blood really was according to the first movie. Seriously, in AVP when Lex stabs the xeno with that spear it took forever for it to eat through it. Come to think of it, I don’t remember the acid eating the spear all the way. What’s up with that?!

That's because the Predators are more than capable of manufacturing acid-proof weaponry, the Combistick being one such example.

Theory is that the reason the armor and wristblades weren't acid-proof was an ill-advised prank by either the Elders or the teen Preds' peers, or because only certain forms of weaponry get the upgrade. After all, every Predator gets wristblades and armor (which isn't always the case with the Combistick or the Pred-Shuriken), so whatever resource they use to make the acid-proof equipment may be in limited supply.

Also, since Predator hunting is ritualized, it is reasonable to suppose that the Predators have different weapons for war than for hunting (like how most humans don't use automatic weapons or cruise missiles to go deer hunting). An example might be the heat beam that the Predator ship used to make the hole down to the Antarctic pyramid in AvP. So the Preds with their capacity for interstellar and (presumably) aerial combat gives them yet another edge against the Aliens.

Conclusion? Preds rule Razz

if it's an all-out war between the Preds and Xenos, it'll be really hard to say who'll win.

Xenos have, as mentioned by ConnMan8D, fast growth capabilities and sheer numbers. this alone is a powerful advantage.

Preds have their technology, and so far we've seen, or played, what we know of in movies and games. we have yet to see the true potential of Pred ships. already the heat beam is pretty spectacular, don't cha think?

it would be really interesting to see the two species in an all out war Wink
