Check out Bungie studios' Front Page. Ensemble studios (Age of Empires) is now making "Halo Wars" the first Halo real-time-strategy game.
http://halowars.com/ The Official site.
I think it's ironic how Halo started as a RTS (early production stages) and now will finally become a RTS.
P.s.- Wingnut studios, Peter Jackson and Fran Welsch's new game studio, are also working with bungie on a so-far-unidentified Halo game!

The trailer is mind blowing. Even though it's pre-renderd, it's still amazing. _________________ You forget one thing: rock crushes scissors. But paper covers rock... and

Yeah that's how Plasma weapons should respond. Bigger, faster, better.
But it's on xbox 360... EVERYONE KNOWS STRATEGY GAMES ARE BETTER ON PC! GRAARRAGH! _________________

Do you think they could release a X06 wireless keyboard and a copy of the Wiimote (to function as a mouse) just for this game. If they do I'm a genius. Which reminds me of when 12 years ago I grabbed the steering wheel on my dad's nissan and it was really cold, so I says to him- They should put a seat-heater in this so your hands don't get cold. Lo and behold sometime later Infiniti comes and rips me off. . . Wild huh? (no, my stories suck half the time).
Who thinks Master Chief should say "You're the man now dog" in Halo 3? _________________ "Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love." - Albert Einstein |

Mostly true. AvP Extinction, though not the best RTS in the world, had very fluid controls even on the PS2.
This one is being built from the ground up for the 360 by people who are talented RTS designers... _________________ You forget one thing: rock crushes scissors. But paper covers rock... and

That may be, however no matter how well its been streemlined for the Xbox a PC would still be a superior platform. _________________

Turn-based is okay on consoles, but real-time, not so much. First off, try strategy and micromanegment go out the window the second the scale of any maneuver shrinks to only a few units, units defined as an entity that executes particular functions and carries certain abilities, ergo in Battle for Middle Earth 2, your army really tops out at 10 or so units.
When 10 units consitutes an army, your possible tactics and maneuvers are small scale, unlike, say, Age of Empires or Warcraft, where scores of units could perform complicated operations, such as attacks on multiple fronts, cutting supply lines, sieging. Compare those to that <20 unit figure, where the only real need is a big frontal attack that will decimate in one battle, maybe with a few unit specializations, such as seige on towers, archers on peasants, soldiers on soldiers.
Consoles in thier very nature are not suited for large-scale micromanagment, but for macromanagement. However, adding a keyboard and mouse style of play would fix that, but then the game is basically in essense a PC game now.
Still, if they're going to make an RTS, why the fuck not on the PC eh? I am SICK of the Halo franchise being Microsoft's console bitch, even when Microsoft says they want to put the PC more prominently on the market. I WANT MY HALO FIX BUT I DON'T WANT THAT FREAKING CONSOLE! _________________

lol, pwned.
Empire at War and Battle for Middle Earth werent really that good.
I have faith.
It may be blind, delude faith, but faiith just the same.
There once was a time when people thought FPS's were only good on PC, too.
Things change. The age of the console RTS is nine! _________________ You forget one thing: rock crushes scissors. But paper covers rock... and

I do agree that RTS' are better on PC, but that doesn't mean they are not always shitty on a console. The Lord of the Rings RTS was acually pretty good on the 360. And besides, Halo belongs on the Xbox. The PC import was nice though. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

Well, he's right.
Perhaps it should be on both. That would solve many problems. _________________ You forget one thing: rock crushes scissors. But paper covers rock... and
