The original link didn't go directly to the site that it was on, but instead a seemingly random page on the site it's on and as such needed a bit of searching. This is understandable, as the thread started was a tard, or a bit of a newbie, just like you. Also "quiz" not "game".

And really Aurelyn, is posting in old threads such a bad thing? Admittedly it's a shit thread, but the man obviously has something to contribute concerning the original topic.

I suppose a simple "Which my little pony are you" quiz thread is an easy subject to approach, no matter how thick you are. It also gives the opportunity to make yourself a little more familiar to the forum community, while gaily tiptoeing around any possible taboos and no-nos, as you're not really making any statements.

As to why, your guess is a good as mine. I suppose some people just can't bear to lurk.
