I don't see anyone celebrating anyone's death
The odds were stacked against him. He made a career of pissing off dangerous, wild animals that otherwise may have never been pissed off. I sympathize with his family's loss, but I think it was an unfortunate, premature end that could have been avoided had he not been a flaming jackass with extremely poor judgement. He was loved the world over, except by the creatures who felt threatened by the cavalier manner in which he approached them. He was lucky to have lived as long as he did. Stingrays generally do not attack humans unless they specifically feel threatened. Hell, I've handled and swam with wild stingrays in the Caribbean and the worst that happened remains a quarter-inch scar above my right elbow where one of them sheered off some skin as it passed over me.
That being said, I can appreciate the attention he brought to animal conservation and education, and the millions of children who enjoyed his antics certainly benefitted from his open and accesible nature. Anyone who has met the man knows he was the genuine article. He was friendly, amiable and always more than happy to spend time with his fans.
It is kinda strange though...he spent much of his adult life tangling with countless deadly creatures that are known to attack humans, and was killed in a freak attack by an animal that rarely does anyone harm. Irony at its wierdest.

anyway Digitaaliklosetti, if you didnt know steve irwin was the owner of australia zoo which took in many injured wildlife then set them back into the wild and has been removing crocidiles from suburbs and putting them deeper into the wild to avoid any deaths, so i would rather you didnt joke about a dead person.
but i do agree with you on that he did just fuck around with animals sometimes when he didnt need to.
