Very smart to make a versus of a character that appeared in one Star Wars movie and died at the end versus a main character that already lived through three movies...

But still, I would say Darth Maul.

Why? First of all, he uses the Force. Wolvie may be fast, but Maul can foresee his every move (unless I interpreted that part of the movie where Qui-Gon tells that Jedi can foresee stuff wrong). Plus, Wolverine may heal very fast, I doubt that a beheading by Lightsaber can be healed... and yes, I think that a Lightsaber would cut through adamantium. Why? Because Lightsabers are an elite Jedi (or Sith) weapon that can go through anything to make the movie more exciting.

Maul. Why? Let me count the ways.

a) Lightsabers are basically loops of plasma. Metal usually doesn't hold up well when you subject it to extremely hot ionized gas.

b) As Aramor said, Maul can foresee his opponent's actions. Even further, Maul can pop a mind trick on the midget's ass. Control may be out, but illusions and distractions are all anybody would need. And besides, Maul could mind control Wolverine. I mean, c'mon, the x-man wears his underwear outside his pants. He doesn't have much up there going for him.

c) He's bald.

d) He has a motherfucking spaceship.

There's a vague possiblity that, for storyline purposes, adamantium is a superconductor and thus does not get cut instantly by the blade. Even given that, however, the smart money is on Maul. If all else fails he can just use the Force to pin wolfie to the wall and crush his organs.

also, Maul, coz he's Sith and Sith deal in absolutes. that's what Obi-Wan said anyway.
and i've never heard Professor X say a similar thing about Wolverine.

Wolvie vs. Maul

My money is on Maul....

1) The only thing that lightsbers can't cut is a material called Cartosis
(refer Knights of the old republic game)

2) lightsabers are searing HOT!!! why do you think that in all of the Star Wars movies, whenever a limb is cut with a light saber it never bleeds?
cause the wound/flesh is cooked by the lightsaber beam/blade.i dont think Wolvies healing Factor can work that fast to cope with that kind of injury.

3) wolverine is fast/agile with no apparent fighting style.Maul is faster/agile and calculatingly deadly with sith combat training.Jedi/Sith can deflect lazer beams for crying out loud....you cant get more agile than that.

4) last but not least....The Force.
