Even so, Kermit was never in Sesame Street, not that I know of... |
Kermit was the original muppet.
Note: This does not necessarily mean he was the first muppet, but he was the first important muppet. He was the iconic muppet.
He was Jim Henson's alter ego.
It's Not Easy Being Green was a lesson song. It was sung on Sesame Street as a way to teach the little ones to be accepting of people who look different from them.
| Salvatore_Tells wrote: | | ...but yes, Kermit was definitely in Sesame St. in fact, wasn't he the only of the original muppets that made it to Sesame St.? |
Salvatore, I may be mis-parsing this sentence, but you seem to be implying that The Muppet Show came first.
A more correct statement would be:

Yes, A_More_Correct_Statement_Writer_Guy, I am pretty sure this is true.
| Smileypen wrote: | | Dude, Bowser was from Sha Na Na. |
Exactly.
The scary you DON'T want me dating your daughter look, the Chuck Taylors; he was the personiificaton of the quintessential 50s redux band. I think he was even on some game shoes. Hollywood Squares maybe.
Hey Smileypen, did you ever watch the Sha Na Na TV show?
Ah, the 70s.

The McDonald's commercial characters, like Mayor McCheese, and the Hamburgler, etc., were stolen from characters on H.R. Puff'N'Stuff, and Hanna Barbera sued the McDonalds corporation, and won.

H.R. Puffnstuff was the creation of Sid and Mary Krofft, not William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. But they did win a lawsuit against McDonald's for copyright infringement, so you're half right.
(Sid & Marty Krofft Television Productions, Inc. v. McDonald's Corp., 562 F.2d 1157, decided by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.) Case can be read here
I used to watch H. R. Pufnstuff, Sigmund the Sea Monster, Land of the Lost, Far Out Space Nuts (starring Bob Denver...like "Gilligan's Island" in space... with just him and a Skipper-like character played by Chuck McCann), and Wonderbug, the one with the dune buggy that was alive. The Krofft shows rocked when I was a kid. _________________ "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use."

I don't have a favorite. They all have symptons of drug use.
But if I had to chose one, it would be Big Bird. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.
