question about AVP movie

Hey, everyone I'm new and I've got a question I've been dying to ask someone who understands what an Alien or a Predator is (all the people here are idiots when it comes to Sci-Fi movies of any kind Mad

). So here's the question : In AVP, considering that Alien's life cycle is first facehugger leeched onto some unfortunate living thing's face, THEN is a chestburster...so on so forth. Where did the sudden masses of Aliens come from once the Predators arrived, seeing that EACH Alien must have a host to become a chestburster, when there aren't enough humans,Predators,ect... to go around? Confused

For now I'm assuming that the Predators had a boat load of Aliens frozen in the pyramid somewhere, like the hostage Queen or something. Whadda you think?
By the way these comics make my sides hurt, kudos to Burnie. Very Happy

Hehe, that's one of the many plot problems with that movie...I like it and all, but I can sometimes hurt myself trying to explain the inconsistancies away. I like your theory that they had frozen drones down there, but that would seem to defeat the purpose of keeping a Queen.

Another big problem, and admittedly one that has plagued the Aliens series throughout, is how the xenos can produce so much matter on so little food. Perhaps it really could grow that fast on what it eats, but there isn't a creature alive that can make MORE protien than they consume. Bees have to gather food constantly to make honeycomb, and the xenos don't seem to have that kind of food available.

Then there's the whole time thing. It was pretty measured out in Alien, but in AVP they seemed to go from egg to chestburster to fully grown in less than 12 hours. Of course, they never do tell us how long they were down there.

Thanks for the opinion! By the way I thought I was the only one driven insane by the time thing, makes me happy to know there's someone else out there that noticed it too.
AND in case you are wondering, I realized I said Burnie instead of Bernie but I know around six people who go by Burnie in their e-mails and its become a habit to type it that way.

Here's how I see it. It was said in the AvP movie that the the predators would visit every 100 years. My thought is that the human villages that worshipped the predators took thoughs 100 years to keep the number of aliens up by annual sacrafices. Say like 5 people every month or so for 100 years and sacrafice them to make sure the predators had a large stock to hunt.

I think he was referring to the scene just before they took off up the tunnel to the outside and were being pursued by lots of xenos. I'll have to go back and check, but it seems like there were more of them than of humans in the party. Plus some of those humans were killed by preds before they could be impregnated. Only the people in the Sacrificial Chamber and a few of the security force were impregnated, as well as Miller and Sebastian (although Sebastian's bug died in infancy, the poor widdle thing).

Another question, where did all those eggs in the egg chamber come from? As far as I know there was only the one Queen, and she was definitely too small to fit into that little space. Did one of the drones spontaneously change genders or something?

I know there were PLENTY of human hosts when the world was overrun, its more like what Holly was saying, you know when Scar and Lex were being chased by inumerable xenos.
But on the egg question, when the Queen is first brought up from her chamber she is forced to lay eggs, then the eggs were sent on a conveyor type thingy to their designated rooms. Still that was quite a few eggs, no wonder she was pissed.
Oh, Holly, I'm a girl, I just forgot to log in when I placed the "AVP question topic" (to let you know) I do stupid things like that all the time

I'm in the middle of reading the book right now but I still haven't found an explination for the numerous xenos, and if they were "just born" how on earth did they grow SO fast ? Shocked

I mean, in the first Alien movie it took hours for the Alien to grow, and it had to eat something. Unlike these that seem to grow on air molecules Confused

Yeah, on a couple of interview, article thingys that I read off the internet about several parts that weren't put in the movie. Personally I kinda liked the prologue in the AVP book, I was a little dissapointed that they didn't use a lot of it in the movie. I think it could've been an easy way for them to fit in another one on one Alien/Predator fight. Of course, as long as it was as "visual" as Cerasini's work in the novel, otherwise it may very well have been too confusing if Anderson had tried to skip parts that were in the book.

Anyway, I wasn't as crazy about Alien Ressurection as I was the first three. Were you? I mean it was pretty cool and all, but there were a few parts that were...let's say, odd. Ripley sniffing the air, "I can tell they're coming", that was just a little weird don't ya think?

No way. The sacrificial chamber was a LOT smaller than the room Scar threw the bomb into. In the movie that room shown is too large, and kinda rectangular compared to the circular sacrificial chamber. You were right it isn't the same room, but I think maybe the Predators had several conveyor systems set up through the entire pyramid, on the other hand those would be pretty messy organizational skills for a Predator. Perhaps they let the Aliens sorta run free and place the eggs where they want to, you know, give Aliens an advantage in order to make it a harder challenge?

i think we can all agree that anderson fubar'd AVP. Still a good fight scene between Celtic and Grid, even though the outcome was horribly sudden and anti-climactic.

Yeah, the tails were waaay too long. They even seemed to change length throughout the movie.

In deleted scene of film they find a mummified face-hugger, so maybe all the other aliens were the same but the preds' used their advanced gizmos to re-birth them. COOL!!!

Grid's tail was too long. Has he ever heard of surgery. Rolling Eyes

am I the only one who thinks that they could have replaced the first half of the AVP movie with a star wars thing (you know, the scrolling text thing) and it would have made it a MUCH better movie?

I thought the movie was cool it showed alot of action but at the end

chestburster is a predqueen they actually show a predqueen in the
xbox avp game Cool
