Oh, god. This brings a flashback.
I remember when those Alex Chiu rings came out. If you advertised the device on your website or somewhere else and recieved a certain amount of banner click, you would get them for free. This was around the year 2000.
There wasn't a day that went by that I didn't see that seizure-inducing banner on all the old forums I went to. Someone DID actually recieve a free device, but he said it's junk.
Here's an old screenshot of the banner. This thing would flash like a pokemon episode:
