Such madness that overtakes a group of people when a forum post runs on too long...oh, well.
Anyways, I'm 24, 5'10" (or is it 5'11", can't keep track), a librarian-to-be, and I've got no beef with older men, Complex_Number. I am dating one who is actually the oldest in our mutual group of friends. |

Hey, if that's what you prefer, it's cool, Biomechanical. Age is irrelevant for most crowds either way.

For the record, googleplex is a legitimate (though ridiculously-named) number, but its use here was certainly nonsensical.

Actually it is Googolplex, not googleplex, hahaha
I mispelled it... you see how Google is brainwashing us?
(Actually the GOOGLEplex is the Google's facilities name)
A googol is 10^100.
A googolplex is a 10^googol., that means: 10^10^100
Note for the record, Doc. Brown in Back to the Future III says, when he was thinking of the probabilities of meeting Clara, "She is one in a million, one in a billion, she's one in a googolplex"
OMG, I love that movie. I love his facial expression after saying googolplex...

...but you didn't grow out of "lol", did you? some crapspeak is good, other crapspeak is bad. and you are to decide which crapspeak proves the speaker childish, and which doesn't.
let me assure you that there is a lot of crapspeak going on around here, and yes, unbelievable as it may seem, some of the older and respected members also take much pleasure in crapspeaking with the young and stupid like me.
is that what you consider the criterion for being grown-up or childish? the choice of vocabulary? not even that, you made a judgment on someone's age inadequacy based on the use of one word. tell me this is not childish.
besides, what's the difference how old someone is. we have members of over thirty, and members of fifteen, and guess what: it's fun. it's an internet forum for chrissakes. it's designed to provide amusement and entertainment to those who are willing to accept some basic conventions. it's unadvisable to take anything without a pinch of salt.
but hell, what do i know. i'm only nine (going on ten, mind you).

Didn,t grow out of lol,....hey Einstein, its a generic abbreviation for
laughing out loud...you know,to let the person your speaking with
know its all good, but thats Internet 101....
And yes i,m entitled to my opinion...you don,t like, well tough titties.
Of course i base a persons age of there the way they speak, you start
talking like a baby..or an idiot..well just don,t talk to me.
And when did you set the standard for how i communicate?...
But as you so correctly put it..hell,what would you know...and would you be
this much of a board hero if we were standing in the same room...one can
only wonder.
You should take a page from Hypnosys book and let it go. And it always
amuses me when jibbers try and educate or talk tough behind their computers...i,m rapidly discovering who the board ass is..but theres one
in every forum,lol.
@Blaster...And you wonder why i get the shits.... |

LMAO, I didn't even realize that as I typed it.
On the subject at hand: let's all make sure not to judge one another prematurely here. Sometimes people get off to a bad start for some reason or another, but we should let that go until we are certain that we have a reason to hate somebody. _________________ Context is everything. |

good greif.
he wasn't saying how "lol" is nonsense, he was saying that that sort of language is generally considered ... inapropriate for forums. I mean, in general chatting sites, like MSN, using abbreviations is all right, because speed is of the essence. but here, it can take hours, if not days, for someone to reply, so what's the rush? take your time! proofread it, check the grammar, and think to yourself: "is this really worth putting up? how will it make others think about me?" generally, many people may still type poorly to save time, but is it really so great, when you consider that every .5 of a second you save is taking about 10 points off your percieved iq?
and, as an end note, "type smarter, not faster!"
wrincewind out.
-yes, i am only fifteen.
p.s. oh and also, please refrain from putting those random enters into your post, because
it makes it
hard to
read.

Glad I didn't offend you...I generally try not to do that to anyone. And in the case of the grating, a wise person once said, "Patience is a virtue that not many of us have especially in great quantity." Though sometimes others try to make one use what patience a person does have.
The monitor's sort of a safety net for those on-line. It just depends on the personality of who is sitting in front of the monitor that shows how much they tend to make use of that safety net.
Whoa..waxing philosophy. I have been in school for almost too long. Pardon my observations. |

where did i say you weren't?
not agreeing with your opinion is not equal to denying you the right to have one.
| Quote: | | And when did you set the standard for how i communicate? |
well, when did i indeed?
| Quote: | | and would you be this much of a board hero if we were standing in the same room...one can only wonder. |
what's that paranoia of yours?
am i dissing you? insulting you? your mother? show me the exact space where i come across as a "board hero" who talks shit to people because it's online.
and if you mean if i were eager to try and discuss your attitude with you while being in the same room with you - of course i would. we're civilized and capable of a debate. right?
unless you mean that if we were in the same room, you would've beaten me up twice already, thus proving beyond any doubt that your arguments are right and mine aren't.
again, tell me this is not childish.
| Quote: | | You should take a page from Hypnosys book and let it go. |
of course i will (eventually).

that's the second time in the same post that you say it.
i think it is paranoia.
also, i don't know what a "jibber" is so i'll assume you didn't just insult me.
oh wait, i know what "ass" is, so yes, you did insult me.
and i didn't.
| Quote: | | @Blaster...And you wonder why i get the shits.... |
well, i for one am still wondering.
also

i assume this was about me.
wtf??? i'm the last one to say something is inappropriate for forums! look at some of my posts, man.
by all means, let's talk crapspeak. i thrive on crapspeak!
what i meant was the way Biomechanical jumped to insulting conclusions about hypnosis basing it on one word hypnosis used.
of course i didn't know what hypnosis really meant (a mathematic ignoranus as i am) and neither did Biomechanical as it turned out a while later.
do i write incomprehensibly? does everyone misread my posts?
will this post ever end? why am i talking like Aramor at the moment? _________________ i have no time for anal love
