attempted mounting-on horseback!

omg, i have to tell you guys this. me and two of my friends, katie and elizabeth, went horseback riding this afternoon at the place we take riding lessons at. i was on this mustang gelding named frankie, elizabeth on a mare named dixie, and katie on another mare named belle. well, at one point, elizabeth cut in front of me and started trotting down one side of the arena we were in and suddenly, frankie tore after dixie, caught up w/ her, and started biting dixie's rear and tried to mount her! i'm on his back trying to slow him and stay on him, no easy feat since i lost both of my stirrups when he caught up w/ dixie. elizabeth's yelling "stop him! get him away from dixie!" the whole time and at one point, i started sliding sideways and almost fell off of frankie. during this whole time, frankie is trying his absolute hardest to mount dixie. finally, katie, who had been watching from the other side of the arena, came up, grabbed frankie's reins and the two of us dragged him away from dixie so elizabeth could get her away. omg, it was soooooooo scary!

Jim Henson's "The Dark Crystal". A concept movie from 1982. I remember watching it, like, all the freaking time when I was little. I don't doubt that some of our older forumites recall it quite clearly (and maybe fondly). After all these years, Aughra is still kinda creepy.

i wont have to do any of those b/c my sister's got it. but i would still prefer geldings to gelflings. at least frankie's funny. he loves to give big wet kisses and he's very smart. course then again, he's a mustang. but he likes dr. pepper. and the first time i rode him, my riding instructor's hubby, gary, was leading us around the ring so i could get used to him, and frankie reached down, pulled out gary's pocketknife, opened it, and dropped it on the ground. the second time i rode him, he stopped to sniff one of the cats that was sitting on the fence. suddenly, he swung his head and knocked the cat off! yeah, something happens every time i ride frankie, but none so exciting as an attempt to mount a mare while i'm still riding him! *sighs* one equesrian experience of many to come...

well, he's not mean...just really playful and smart. but he's actually a very affectionate horse. i love him, he's my favorite horse at the stable. whenever i have time after my lesson, i go and hang w/ him in his paddock.

really? i've always wanted to go to india. mainly to see the marwaris and kathiawaris in their country of origin.

and i would advise visiting the red fort in new delhi and the taj mahal.. two of the most gorgeous places ever. there`s also goa, which is supposedly the richest city in india.. but i never went there. keeping it in mind for the next time i take the trip.

sounds cool. and after that, i thinbk i'll go to vienna to see the Spanish Riding Academy (and the Lipizanners), then spain to see the Andalusians, and last, arabia to see the Arabian horses.

Hey! Wait a minute. To see the Lipizanners you must go to Slovenia.
Offcourse if the Lipizanners are Lipicanci and they are white as adoults and gray as young (english not my first language, bare with me). They are named after a small town called Lipica.

there are also Lipizanners in Vienna. and i've always wanted to see the Spanish Riding Academy. 'course right now, i may not have to worry about leaving to see them, they're doing a tour here in the states. YEAH, BUDDY!!!!!!!!

and i think its really cool to starrt riding. its soooooooooo much fun once u master the basics like the leg position, how to post to the trot, that sort of stuff.
