I don't exactly get to do anything with my delegatey powers. Basically people stop begging you to join their region and start begging you to vote on their UN proposal.
That, and you get to change the regional description and choose who stays and who leaves. Mind you, I get to do that anyway, what with being the one who created the region. I like to think of it as an emergency backup system, because one of you little weasels is going to try and kickban the rest of us, sooner or later. I'm looking at you, Aramor.
Only a couple of us are actually in the UN, so one's votes in the proposal list don't mean much. The importance of a delegate's opinion is measured by the nations who support him.
You know.
Just to clear up a few things.
So yeah. Unionize, bitches. Make being delegate something really worth bickering about. _________________ bitchez n hose |

Decided to join up. Would've come to the party sooner but my PC was down for the count for most of December. Fear the wishy washy liberal pantywaists of the People's Republic of Sierra De La Cadena. Until I turn them into ravening psychotic cannibals. _________________

The Empire of Tripporia is a very large, safe nation, remarkable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 50 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."
The small, corrupt government is effectively ruled by the Department of Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 20%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing industry, followed by Gambling and Basket Weaving.
Citizens are regularly arrested in queues for 'loitering', a crusade against barbaric religious practices has begun, a spate of enforced closures has left 'Government FM' as the nation's only radio station, and child labor has been outlawed. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Tripporia's national animal is the Panda Samurai, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the US Dollar.

The Empire of Pieh
Civil Rights: Very Good
Economy: Basket Case(wtf?)
Political Freedoms: Superb
Location: AlienLovesPredator Forum Thing
The Empire of Pieh is a tiny, socially progressive nation, renowned for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 5 million love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Law & Order, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 59%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Door-to-door Insurance Sales.
Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Pieh's national animal is the piepooper, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the pie.

I just made one and I'm in the AlienLovesPredator Forum Thing.
My dictatorship looks a bit like this...
The Dictatorship of The Idiotic Geniuses is a tiny, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its absence of drug laws. Its compassionate, cynical population of 5 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.
The medium-sized, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Defence, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 18%, but much higher for the wealthy. A very small private sector is dominated by the Beef-Based Agriculture industry.
Crime is moderate, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. The Idiotic Geniuses's national animal is the goomba, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the shrooms.
I started twenty minutes ago.
Our motto is "Oops!"
And we pay for stuff with teh shrooms, baby.
*edit*

The Empire of Tripporia is a very large, safe nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 81 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."
The medium-sized, corrupt government is effectively ruled by the Department of Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 25%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing industry, followed by Gambling and Basket Weaving.
The government seizes all major gold finds, scenic mountain valleys are flooded with water as damming projects get underway, citizens are regularly shot for parking on the double-yellow line, and only the rich can afford the latest medical innovations. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Tripporia's national animal is the Panda Samurai, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the US Dollar. _________________

Sorry to resurrect or whatever the term for bringing back an old thread like this, but I just had to say I created my Fiefdom of Cruelty and Doom with the motto Kill or Be Killed. That about does it. Oh, and my flag is the flag of Micronesia.

The Fiefdom of Cruelty and Doom is a tiny, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its strong anti-business politics. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 5 million are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."
The large, corrupt, moralistic government devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 29%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Trout Farming.
Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Cruelty and Doom's national animal is the panda shogun, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the deutschmark.
