Aramor's g/f says quit smoking

I'm kinda drunk so tomorrow I'm gonna have a hangover in class... if I even wake up in time...

What also made me unhappy is my girlfriend telling me I gotta quit smoking or else she doesn't want to see me anymore... and I really love her so I guess I gotta quit smoking...

in my opinion asking someone to quit smoking is like asking someone to start because you do, you just don't!

i hate things like that. "oh i love you, but if you don't quit smoking i don't wanna see you" that's bullshit

Well, so long as this is temporarily the "Aramor smoking advice" thread, here's my two cents:
She has every right to ask you to quit smoking. Likewise, you have ever right to tell her to go fuck herself. So it's an issue of what matters more to you.
I guess you can lie, but I'm not so sure lying about something like this, especially right from the beginning, is exactly conducive to a healthy relationship.
And, btw, the smell of smoke will linger on your body/clothes for hours, or possibly until you wash them.

An option none of you considered: Get her addicted. Seriously. Few things make a relationship last as well as shared addictions. While you're at it, you might as well both become raging alcoholics.

It's like wedded bliss, but without all the legal nonsense.

Before anyone accuses me: I'm not a healthy liveing fanatic. But than again I'm not a needless addiction fanatic either, we are all addicted to food, air and water so there is no need to get addicted to anything else.

On the shareing the addiction thing: For the love of Mystra! Don't ruin another life! If you like smokeing then go ahead but don't drag your girlfriend into such a vice. There are already enough smokers as it is, no need for more.

As for becomeing rageing alcoholics I'd say if you realy must get your girlfriend addicted on something stick to the cigarettes. At least that doesn't change one's personality.

no seriously, i wouldn't wanna give up drinking beer for example. if not to get drunk, then just because beer is the best drink a man can have (especially when watching sports or playing pool)!

about the smoking again, i believe that if you love someone you're not gonna break up with him/her just cause he/she smokes. you can ask them to quit, and maybe they will, but if not...well love>cigarettes, so one just has to stick with it in my opinion. it's a hard question because both ways one loses, just the question who should lose...
