well, of course it is geniousness, in that it is genuinely original and very very innovative and it surely appeals to those with more unconventional and, let's call it, openminded tastes (although this sounds a bit snobbish which i'm not aiming at). and this group includes me.
but the fact remains there is certain amount of howtocallit - insanity? depravity? anti-aesthetics? in geiger's works.
calling it "fucked up" was not an argument against this kind of imagery, by no means. it was just... naming its inherent feature that determines its uniqueness?
i don't know how to better express it, i'm no good at talking art theoretics, i hope you get what i'm trying to convey.
