Well, you do it via the console... most games have it... it's awesome...
I once screwed up the keybinds for the UT2003 game on one of the school computers... if you fired, you would jump, turn left, use alt-fire, walk forward, say "FIRE!!!" and crouch or something like it... and the Escape key was set on suicide...

Hey! Don't go around insulting my thread. It's not my fault that these guys went way of track.
Intresting fact is I usualy get balmed for spaming and "Holy random offtopicness, Batman".
Anyway, back again to the topic: the general tendency is to make heavely armed APC instead of armor (not Aramor). Problem is that this would require air supremacy and only the USA and to some extent Great Britan can asure it.
