Ok! Fact is I like tanks, So I'm starting this thread so any auther tank enthusiast can discuss the highs and lows of the worlds toughest war vehicle.
I personaly like the M1A2 Abrams: fast, tough, powerful and the only truly digitilased tank at the moment!

You dissapoint me. Rommel made a name for himself leading tanks in WW2. As for choppers, modern tanks take at least two infantry heald missile to bring them down (and in the same spot) while for a chopper one is enough. So there is still a place for the tank.

i know who he was, you think im dumb. im just saying that a chopper can take a tank down with ease, plus choppers are fast moving and most infantry dont carry heat seaking stingers. _________________ Meh |

Choppers are designed to kill tanks, true. But AA defence is a nightmare for them, also in modern armys many carri heat seaking missiles some mounted on 4x4 vehicles. Example Humvee with TOW missile. Also the chopper was defeted in the Russian-Afganistan war, where infantry with handheald missile launchers wriked havoc among them. _________________

True again, but nowadays nobody uses RPG against choppers anymore, Stingers are prefered. Also there was a story where an iraqui citesen shot down an Apache with a rifle, this is impossible with a tank also, thei did the same with tanks and also with scout drones as I recall. _________________

number one: there were 6 of them with AK-47s
number two: every single thing has a weak spot
if you get up behind a tank with a rifle, run up to it and open the hatch, your going to kill some guys arnt you. _________________ Meh |

1.Tank hatches are usualy seald.
2.Geting close to a tank that's doing 40kph is rather hard.
3.Tanks usualy have around 2-3 machinguns, and usualy trave in platoons wit hinfantry cover.

the hind is pretty well armed but its slower the the apche, which leaves it open to ground fire. _________________ Meh |

Sorry for disspointing you but that chopper is still under development. There about 2 or 3 prototipes around (though I'm not sure). Also it employs stealth technology witch is only available to the US. _________________
