I don't mean hand car washes, either. I mean those huge automated ones. With all the spinning brushes and spray jets and stuff. When I was little I was convinced that they would crush any car that dared to go inside. They were so noisy and mean looking it was easy to imagine a bunch of hammers and saws coming out to destroy your car. Also, the way the brushes move makes it feel like your car is moving even though you're sitting still, so it's like you're on a conveyor belt being shunted in to meet your doom. Or the Pirates Of The Caribbean ride at Disneyland. Both are pretty scary.
So, any thoughts on the carwash? _________________ The depressing thing about tennis is that no matter how good I get, I'll never be as good as a wall.

i realized.. i`ve never been to one. in my entire life.
well, gee.. the reason for that could most likely be that i don`t have my own car. but i always wondered how it would be like sitting inside the car while it went through. _________________ Yours Queen of Cloud 9

Maybe I'm just really sensitive to motion, but carwashes were always a little disorienting to me. So I completely understand about it feeling like the car is moving.
I try to avoid them as they're pricey (even the cheapest wash setting/level). _________________ "Yeast devil! Back to the oven that baked you!" |

The ones I went through as a kid actually did have a conveyor system. And, yes, I suppose I found them a bit scary, but I think I grew out of that about 20 years ago _________________ Context is everything. |

Are you kidding me? Nothing beats sitting through one! I've never had the windows open (do people actually do that?) but I've had the urge to put on a bathing suit (especially during the summer) and do that, more than once!
They should have an old beat-up car available at car washes so people can do that without ruining the insides of their own cars.

Ummm.... how long does a car take to go through a car wash? 5 minutes? How crazy-fun can things get in 5 minutes?
Besides a Bugs Bunny cartoon, of course. I guess that would be crazy-fun in the middle of a car wash. _________________ You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. |

I thought it was on a conveyor system too. I don't even think it lasts 5 minutes, and there's usually kids outside watching the car go through.
The detergent used on cars is usually milder than dishwashing detergent, but i still wouldn't want to run through it. But I bet the squeegee guys would enjoy toweling dry jennif though. _________________ "You have to quote from books to look clever. You can't quote from films. JOKE, it was a joke. Besides, just kissing someone can be crazy fun and it doesn't take very long at all. |
