This was shown at E3 the other day for the Valve panel.
The teaser trailer!
I can't wait! There's going to be so much more going on and oh man...It looks awesome already. Some people are bitching about there being more black people but since the game takes place in Louisiana I don't understand why those idiots are complaining about a state that has more blacks than whites. I do love the fact that it takes place in the day time. So no more turning flashlights off to sneak up on infected. It's kind of a contrast with the other game. With it taking place at night and having only Louis as the token black guy. I think it's awesome how different everything is.
I was wondering where the game was going to take place before I seen the trailer and I was thinking "Oh crap this one might take place in a big city like Los Angeles or Seattle," But I do like it taking place in New Orleans. I can only hope that we get character backgrounds, a movie showing us how the infection happened and possibly what happened to everyone in the first Left 4 Dead.
And the new melee weapons. I don't know about you guys but that chainsaw is going to be my new best friend.
That's it for now! _________________

Why oh why are they releasing a sequel so soon? The first game is still maturing for God's sake. Not even a year old! Now if it was, say, a massive stand alone expansion, it'd be fine.
I'll hold judgement and excitement until the demo though. _________________

I gotta agree. They have absolutely NO fucking reason to be making a sequel so soon.
Can't say I'm not excited though. _________________ You forget one thing: rock crushes scissors. But paper covers rock... and

| I just started playing the first one a month ago. I wouldn't even expect a sequel from a game like this, but here we are, talking about how this game shouldn't have a sequel yet. |

A bit sudden for a sequel, but this is one of my most anticipated games.
They already released gameplay footage and it looks great. Either the axe or the bat are my choice melee weapons. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

I'm thinking it's so they can circumvent their pledge never to charge for add-on content.
Not sure how I feel about Ellis shouting "get to the choppah!". I don't think it'll cut down on your team-mates doing it.
Also: The gauntlet finale sounds interesting. As do the new Infected and abilities intended to cut down on four people huddling in a corner, which is dull as fuck.
Weird that there's no survivor with a law enforcement or military background. Guess they're avoiding cliche. The 8 page article in today's PC Gamer is rekindling my interest in L4D. _________________

It would be awesome if you can stop a Hunter mid-pounce by smacking him the face with the frying pan. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

Surely you can. I'd lay good odds it'll be an Achievement. _________________

Did you see the wandering witches? God damn that's going to suck if she's right in front of the path I need to take and purposely moving in front of me to block my way.
I still can't crown a witch properly. I've killed witches before they can get up and attack me but I never got the achievement for it. _________________

Sometimes you kill 'em in one hit without getting a headshot. I find it easiest to wait until she stands up, and aim high. _________________

I never liked the voice acting for the witch. It just seemed... I don't know. Like when you're reenacting a loud scene from a movie in which you're supposed to scream but you whisper a yell and it results in this really "Haaah, look, haaah, he did this, it was this big, haaah!" kind of thing. I mean, she yells at you as you're getting the fuck out of there, but I'm not feeling it.
I'm not sure if what I said made any sense, but that's how I see it. I'm also half awake and only had some rice and milk... |

I'm not minding the sequel as much as others. Though I think the reason for that is I'm actually just borrowing a copy of L4D from a friend who doesn't play it - at all - anymore; you could say he pretty much gave it to me.
I don't think the problem is how soon it's coming. Everyone bought Halo 3 because, although it was Halo 2 with a few new toys and shinier, it took 3 years to release. We got bored of Halo 2. We needed something new.
But here L4D2 comes in only little more than a year. It's essentially the same thing as the first but in a different outfit. We have some new weapons, a different setting, but the gameplay remains largely the same. A lot of people think they could've just released DLC. I don't think so - a lot of the minor changes would be too much.
Like I said, I don't think how soon it's going to be available is the issue. It's that it's the same. If a number of major changes were made while allowing for an even better experience than the first, no one would be complaining. |

Honestly, I'm not interested.
The characters look bland, the weapons are mostly reskins of the old ones, and the daytime aesthetic doesn't appeal to me. If it were an expansion pack, I might consider buying it, but what I've seen so far definitely does not look like its worth yet another 50 bucks. |

And Chainsaw's likely going to come in and say something about sexual harassment or something.
