Watching 'Recruits', an australian show about rookie cops, its rather pathetic really, four burly cops just stomped some asian dudes head into the wall outside a sydney night club. I would change the channel but my other half has the remote...

i just watched TMNT, the 2007 full-length CGI turtles movie.

despite its rather moronic excuse for a main plot, i quite enjoyed it, primarily because it made a focal point of Raphael, my favourite and by far the most interesting of the turtles, transforming him into the full-fledged Wolverine of the group. i always knew that Raphael is a cynical bastard, while Leonardo's an asshole, Donatello's gay, and Michelangelo's a retard - no contest here. thus, i can say i fully appreciate the writers' effort to make the most of the strongest character they had in their hands, and giving a cold one to the bland ones. good job.

reason two is that i really liked this flick's Watchmen-like premise of vigilantes out of business, allowing Raphael to take on the additional role of the Rorschach of the group. the inevitable Raphael-Leonardo tension was by far the strongest aspect of the story and i can only wish they devoted more time to it, instead of piling up the silly ancient-warriors-something-something bulshit.

reason three is that this movie's animation kicks major computer generated ass. seriously, i'm no expert, and certainly no digital animation fanatic, but TMNT looks amazing enough for my taste.

That's the same reason why I loved the film. I agree, I thought the best part of the film was the conflict between Raphael and Leonardo, the story was rather flat but that subplot was actually pretty interesting.

I hate it when that happens. I once lent a friend of mine "Shoot 'Em Up" and then she lent it to someone else, unintentionally. So, now it's basically gone.
