I haven't bought it yet, but I plan to eventually. I played the demo and it was cool.
But I have to say the Dark Athena half of the game is not supposed to be as good as the Butcher Bay half. If you (for some god knows reason) didn't like Butcher Bay, then you wont like it, I promise you.
How anyone could not like Butcher Bay is beyond me. Official Xbox Magazine always considered it one of the best original Xbox games, and I wholeheartedly agree. Definitely on the same level as Halo: CE.

Butcher Bay was fantastic. Apparently they're releasing a remastered version of the original with the new one.

Yah, Dark Athena has a re-made Butcher Bay in it, as well as a supposedly half decent multiplayer.

Pisser, i got Butcher Bay on PC and play it constantly when i bored of other games, its my fall back!! Athena will be on PS3 for me. Thursday it gets released here.
