Okay, now that everyone has proposed and before this ends in a brawl, Ipsa will have to choose three who will proceed to the next round (unless you want that to be decided by popular vote or the mystical "forum elders", Ipsa).
Contestants:
- Aurelyn
- Corporal Waffle
- Aramor
- Simon
- You know who
- BaconNeggs
- The Renaissance Man
The next round will be: other forum members will ask you questions!!!11OMGWTFBBQ!!!111 (maximum three questions per member)
Ipsa: pick your top 3! (the most fun would be if you'd motivate your choice)
Edit: Whoops, forgot one. Thanks Simon. _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu

Maybe. But I didn't have the benefit of experience, or of having seen various competitors already try, or of being as much a forum regular as many of you, or of having as good a job (probably) or so forth as most of you...but I tried anyways. Even with all the odds against me and without any particular advantages on my part...I still made the attempt. Even if that's all I can really attest to.
You may be skillfully modest, Simon...But I'm the cheery underdog.

Obviously you've never played a certain classic Japanese RPG before.
But anyway, this whole ordeal's been really interesting, especially since my own plans have been ruined, again, and somehow I think Ipsa was on to me this whole time. That or I just revealed my own plans for the second time... |

Where once there were seven, now there are three! ...four?
Well, I'm happy to follow suit and revel in my geekiness.
B.S. in pure mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Encyclopedic knowledge of StarCraft
I've played a grandmaster in chess and earned a draw (he did beat me a few times first, though)
Proficiency in C++
I don't have a vast collection, per say, but I DO have a complete set of all the Calvin and Hobbes books!
I also build my own computers... except for laptops.
I don't care in the least about either Baseball or Hockey, but I'm using my undergraduate knowledge of stastistics to bet on both to help fund my M.S. (in Statistics). A virtuous cycle if there ever were one.
I am also legally blind without correction.
I own the Venture Brothers seasons 1 and 2 on DVD (still need to get that third one).
I taught high school calculus for two years.
This never fails to crack me up: http://lukecompany.ytmnd.com/
I write poetry and fiction (and no, it's not emo poetry... stop looking at me like that).
I play the cello.
That's all I can think of right now regarding my geekiness, but to sweeten the deal, let me just say that I have a really sweet, full (but chiselled) beard.

Whoa whoa, thats something that could actually get you girls. You could be all bohemian, wear all black with a beret and have readings in a smoky coffee shop.
Like I didn't mention that I'm an illustrator/designer/animator/photographer plus I can bake and sculpt in chocolate, cuz that would be cool.
A cello is sorta geeky, but you need to have a tuba or accordian to seal the deal. _________________ "You have to quote from books to look clever. You can't quote from films. If you quote from films you just look like a geek." |

Well... although it's debatable whether the writing I do is geeky... I DID once write a sonnet that used mathematical terms as euphemisms, so I think it qualifies.
"...I want to take my X
To the limit of your function
And explore the intersection
Of our oscillating junction..."
I forget the rest, I'll have to look for it. It's one of those things I'm half proud of, half ashamed of.
On another note:
I hope Chainsaw isn't the Goran Ivanisevic of this thread.
