Nerds/Geeks: good.
Idiots: bad.
Must like animals.
Must like bacon or have liked bacon in the past
Won't make me watch a chick-flick
Will take out the trash
I think that might be about it... Oh, and good personal hygiene. |
Awesome. As an afficionado of the sunday morning fry doing their phd in zoology, I tick many of those boxes. Making you watch a chick flick would entail watching it myself, so that's out. It would also be churlish in the extreme to not take out one's e-intended's trash (e-trash?)

Not to sound completely bitchy and mean, but if you have to ask for clarification on something like that, then you are probably safely in the "do not want" category. _________________ "Yeast devil! Back to the oven that baked you!" |

Hmmm... perhaps now, the suitors should plan their e-date. Uploading images of the places they'd go, conversation material, etc... _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

Oh, I get it.
But you left yourself open to a teasing there. I'm just taking advantage of that. _________________ "Yeast devil! Back to the oven that baked you!" |

Doesn't seem like that would be fair to the original suitors, since they're no match for my manly magnetism. _________________

Well, it would explain my current lack of luck with the ladies.
When I thought about that sentence btw (I mean mine, about the whole raising your manlyness with my charm), I realized it's very... full of innuendo. Or something. _________________

Right, this thread has stalled, so I'm going to break the proposal deadlock and give da Pandaman the advantage by going first
Were you actually present in Ireland, I would choose this as the location:
Gougán Barra is the site of a 6th century monastery (the building in the pic dates from the 17th century) founded by the patron saint of the city where I live - the lake is the source of the river that flows through that city. The whole valley is a nature reserve now, and a very beautiful one at that.)
[emarriageproposal]
(Over a picnic of bacon sandwiches and wine, with maybe a nice cheese and some grapes)
Ipsa, that a woman of your obvious beauty and wit would attract my interest should be no mystery. However, as a fellow academic and teacher I feel we have much in common and would have a mutual understanding of the calling - joy of the grammar nazi, the jumping out of bed in the middle of the night to write down the idea that you just had, the desire to strangle your students with their inferior work. Add a good dash of silliness and a sprinkle of my rogueish Irish charm, and I feel I would be a match for even a lady of your calibre.
So I ask again, Ipsa, will you e-marry me?

I have three words.
choose your hemisphere.
I ask for your hand in e-marriage, Ipsa...and your dowry shall be exactly 50% of the Earth. And a private space station. With bacon.
You are truly the light of the forum--nay, the entire world. Your wit, brilliance, and radiant splendor cast all others into shadow. You are beset by suitors; I can only offer this dowry and hope that your vast intellectual and physical grace shall deign to note me. I offer but my e-love to you...and half the earth, etc. Ipsa...
Will you e-marry me?

Ooh, the game is definitely on.
Will da pandaman be able to counter Irish charm and academic skills - not to mention half the earth (although Ticktockcitrus' broken image link might be symbolic for a promise that could be broken...)? Certainly it will take more than just some brue and bacon! _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

Allright, I might as well give it a go, and live up to my reputation.
[e-proposal]
Sweet sweet Ipsa. Marry me and you'll be forever known as the girl who married me. Which should count for something on the internet. So uhm... wanna get hitched?
[/e-proposal]
There ya go, now get on with the game. _________________

Heh, wouldn't it be funny if they all came back at the same time, and to make matters worse, when you proposed to Ipsa. |
