I'm a righty, but my son is a lefty. When I enrolled him in Kindergarten, the teacher asked if he had a dominant hand. When I told her he was a lefty, she asked me if I was okay with that. Okay with that? Um, yeah I'm okay with that if he's comfortable being a lefty, don't you dare try to teach him that he's doin something incorrectly. I was pissed.

The teacher might have been a religous zealot fresh from the Middle Ages. The belief was that left-handed people were possesed by or affiliated with demonic forces. There was the whole superstition about left being 'the devil's side', hence why you threw salt over your left shoulder to drive Ol' Satan away.

Or somthing like that.
