Ugh, we've been through this already. Which colonial marines and from what medium do the mobile infantry come from, book or movie? The marines in Aliens are colonial marines, so are the ones from Starcraft. The book version of the M.I. had some damn nifty powered armor and wielded redeemer-like weapons as standard issue, but the movie version kicks less ass than real marines nowadays.
Yes, I disregarded the typo, I feel it's only fair to let someone else inflate their own egos for a change and deliver sweet vengeance on this misspeller.
Also why it's in Utter BS I don't know. Perhaps he can forsee the future of this topic? _________________

Yeah, this is the appropriate section for this. I'm still tempted to smite it mightily. _________________ Context is everything. |

Then the Aliens marines would definitely kick M.I. ass in any scenario save one where the M.I. outnumbered the marines by a huge factor.
In the film the marines were competent and sane. They acted in an organized and efficient manner. The only reason they were taken down in the first place was because the xenomorphs vastly outnumbered them, and were far more capable and deadly than the marines predicted them to be.
The M.I. were just attempts to turn as many greens into insane martyrs as possible and throw them at the bugs without any strategy whatsoever, with minimal equipment of shoddy make to cut costs. _________________

Not to mention that the Marines in Aliens were all pretty much disarmed when they got ambushed. Just Drake and Vasquez had their smart gun ammo ( wich is prolly the reason they were able to escape, till Drake got a shower...). The others were on pistol and shotgun ammo. Oh yeh, and some flame thrower.
Man, I love that pulse rifle fire sound. It's the most awesome gun sound probably in the fictional guns departement in movies. _________________ Back in action |
