Posted: Wed Jun 22, 2005 9:40 pm Post subject: The Movie Game |
|
|
My buddies and I play this game when we're out at the bar, picking up chicks. Eh, who'm I kidding, when we're out at the bar, looking at chicks. Eh, who'm I kidding, when we're in, arguing over which Poison Ivy movie was the hottest. In any case, here's how we're gonna play it here.
I'll start by posting an actor's or actress' name. Next poster posts a movie that person was in. Next poster posts another actor who was also in that movie. Next poster posts a movie that actor was in. And so forth, so it alternates actor/movie/actor/movie/etc. For example, Mark Hamill -> Star Wars -> Harrison Ford -> Working Girl -> Sigourney Weaver -> Aliens, etc.
Other rules:
- The same actor or movie can't be repeated in the same chain.
- Voices of animated characters don't count.
- Sequels do count (e.g. Lethal Weapon -> Mel Gibson -> Lethal Weapon 2 is valid)
- If you're gonna throw in a stumper, you must be prepared, theoretically, to defend a challenge. In other words, if Brad Pitt's the actor that's up, I can't just throw out Cutting Class hoping to stump everyone, without also having prior knowledge that Roddy McDowall would be a valid continuation.
- If the current chain goes without a post for, let's say, 6 hours, anyone can call it dead and start a new chain by posting any actor.
OBVIOUSLY, any idiot can use imdb.com to look up the answers. But where's the fun in that. We usually play this at a bar (seriously this time), where we try to stump each other and be the last one standing. So when you post, don't cheat by using the web. If a chain has stalled (again, for at least 6 hours), then I guess someone can revive it using a web search - but declare that you cheated for the record.
Cool? Cool.
Ready set go.
Vince Vaughn

After Swingers, gotta go with Heather Graham.
Actually, Poison Ivy 3 was clearly the hottest, as it was the closest to soft core porn of the three. The real question is who is the hottest lead (at the time): Drew Barrymore, Alyssa Milano or Jamie Pressley? |

| It's Two Girls and a Guy, you nitwit. I KNOW that movie, and my next move is Robert Downey Jr., and you'd better watch your step from now on, buddy boy. |

Oh... "Gothika"? Penelope Cruz. |

Billy Bathgate
I assume the movie has to have been released (so Bewitched would not be good today for a response, but would tomorrow). |

The Haunting.
Nm, Simon went for the obvious one.
In that case, Jackie Chan. _________________ Context is everything.
