No, that's passing your genes on to the next generation. Evolution is something else.
And who the hell does say 'make whoopy' anymore? _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

People who make whoopy, I'd wager. There's a distinct difference, like with fucking and making love. _________________ bitchez n hose |

I'm not really sure if it's true, but I think I remember reading somewhere that the mask is actually uncomfortable for them... |

I think it's pretty safe to say that the mask/suit would not be necessary for day to day activities, because why would it be? If they wore the mask all the time they would have to be taking it off a dozen times a day anyway to eat and drink.
In the beginning of Requiem they clearly show that the Predator only puts his mask on when he's about to leave. He is wearing his armor, but I would assume that they do have what I'll call "street clothes" and that they don't wear the suit all the time. Just the movies are going to show them wearing the armor all the time because it would be seen as a waste of time to have to come up with street clothes when it's only going to be in the movie for 20 seconds and 90 percent of the movie-going public would barely notice anyway. |

me thinks bio mask is exclusively for hunting purposes,or generally a fundamenetal gear thats part of their survival suit,n that they wouldnt generally wear in their home world or in normal conditions:
| Quote: | from Predator:The Hunted website
Mask / Bio Helmet
While on safari, the Predators wear distinctive headgear which serves multiple functions. The basic Mask worn by lower class warriors offers protection during combat, and houses a respirator which provides (or supplements) a breathable atmosphere. It is also capable of being used underwater similar to scuba gear.
The higher-class Bio Helmet performs the functions of the basic Mask, but also contains other devices. It can filter through five visual settings: Infrared, Ultraviolet, Thermal Imaging, Low-Light Amplification and Air Density Pressure (movement). The visual setting may also be modified for X-rays and Microwaves, with a built-in Magnetometer and a Geiger Counter.
Housed within the helmet is a targeting and tracking system for any shoulder-mounted weaponry, with an extensive array of surveillance equipment - including a Waveform Analyzer which can imitate previous words spoken to it in an effort to communicate with alien life forms. |
considering the variety of its functions, its fair to assume that helmet is a purely tactical equipment, therefore no usage for it in daily life.
| Quote: | and again from The Hunted
Q: In Predator 2, the Predator has his mask/helmet taken, yet he still sees in heat vision - in Predator, he takes it off and sees in a new red vision. How can this be?
A: It's never been fully explained exactly what kind of 'normal' vision an unmasked Predator has,but using the theory that they DO have a form of natural infra-red vision: the Predator's vision changed in the first film because the 'high-tech' mask filtered most of the infrared waves, creating a clearer view. In other words, Predators see infrared emitted by warm surroundings, such as the tropical rainforest. The vision without the mask didn't change much in the second film because he was in a meat storage house - being kept cool and emitting little infrared, his vision didn't change much with or without the mask.
~
On the subject of the Yautja's visual senses, it's probable that the planet is either quite distant from any Sun, or the light produced from their Sun is very different to that of Earth. This would explain the first Predator's vision once he had removed his helmet - it showed his vision as either a form of infra-red, or something evolved from another kind of visual spectrum. It is also possible that their planet rotates at a slower speed, leaving them in darkness for long periods of time - the Yautja may be primarily a nocturnal species. |
ofcourse, this is just fans speculation, and most likely the different vision has its explanation in a trivial continuity error, but still if when we talk about predators and we want to consider them as real,i think we would better like to make pseudo-logical theories that would be in line with the image we have of them in our mind, and as long as we dont get anal bout it,i still find it funny to theorize about something fictional as predators evolution.
important thing is to keep it real and not becoming fanboys like trekkies who would actually believe and take very seriously pseudo-science facts like spacetime continuum, teleport, whaddafuckever and who would eat your face out if you dare tell em they are talking bulls...cuz none of us here is a fanboy/girl,right? _________________
