finally, an on-topic topic on the topic.
discuss anything related to the football proper, the soccer,
the 11-on-11-with-a-round-ball-and-2-goals-with-nets thing that keeps European people completely and notoriously uninterested in baseball.
for starters: Poland has just secured a place in Euro 2008 thanks to beating Belgium 2-0. woohoo!

Ireland really are a complete joke when it comes to the soccer - there's been a big upset lately because the manager's just been fired for being completely useless. I think there's an absolute outside chance we can still qualify but it's tiny after we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by having Israel score twice against us in the closing minutes of the game. Useless twads.

Ah yes, forgot about the Wales game - that'll tell you how much attention I actually pay to our national squad. Yup, Wales 2 - Rep. of Ireland 2, Ireland going home, Wales going to Germany to get slaughtered.
