For that particular breed they do need people to infest and infact all the different er.... spawns? need a host creature. If you read the story behind the zerg in the Starcraft booklet thing it actually says that the different variances came from different creatures assimilated into the hive and then warped and changed, like you know adding spikes here or giant throttling blades there. |
yes but you don't really see a larva jumping onto someones face. The infested terran, they just infested a command center, it's not as if someone put a terran right next to an egg. _________________ Cogito Ergo Sum....Bitch.

Come on it is heaps similar. So what if it doesn't jump straight onto his face that would probably be seen as one of the biggest rip offs of all time if it did.
What about the creep? The creep is heaps like the alien hive resin and the Zerg live on there like the aliens do. |

Holy crap, I wasted my entire sophomore year of high school playing StarCraft. All I remember is this one hot chick in my English class and StarCraft... I played a LOT. I was pretty good too.
I was even one of the lucky 1000 who played in the original Beta Test... I may still have that old beta cd.
Funny story, I made a bet in my freshman year of college with my roommate that I could beat him, and two other friends in a 3on1 game of StarCraft. Two of them were terrans, the other was protoss. I randomed zerg.
Game was over in 32 minutes. Me = +$50
...and this was after having not played for a year. I was GOOD. _________________ The official MILF-masta of the AlP forums.

If you've played the Brood War single player missions out and seen the ending cutscene for the terrans, you're not so much reminded of AVP as you are reminded of the movie Starship Troopers. (a deliberate parody, I think).
Anyway, I think StarCraft borrows a lot of ideas from many places, not just AVP.
Star Trek, Starship Troopers, and likely many, MANY bad sci fi movies I've never seen.
As far as the Protoss/Predator connection, I see some similarity between a zealot and a predator, but many other differences. Protoss are thin, scrawny-looking guys without mouths who get all their strength from their psychic powers and their technology. _________________ The official MILF-masta of the AlP forums.

I know they arent EXACTLY the same. If they were exactly the same the game would be AVP instead of starcraft. But there are a hell of a lot of similarities between the two games.

read the books, I recommend it. They are small books, easy to read and surprisingly good. I have only read 2 out of the 3 books, what impresses me is the fact, that each book is written by a different person. _________________ Cogito Ergo Sum....Bitch.

Truely methinks number three Speed of Darkness was pretty good, very dramatic and climactic. _________________ "Smile you son of a bitch!" - Jaws |
