Yeah, but isn't this whole thread a bit about narcissism? And we try to hide it by talking about our "ugly mugs"

Incidentally, I have a picture of me looking moody on that same balcony in Croatia (I think). I must dig it out and scan it... |
You most certainly must.
Funny you choose 26, Koko. I absolutely hate that picture, I was having a bad hair year (which started at 25. My girlfriend also loves that black and white picture (she took it), but I think my hair is a little bit too much 'Brian May' there).
Skinny, Blaster? You should see my belly. Which I'm not going to show you, btw.

Would you believe that apart from 22, 24 and 25 I still have all the sweaters and shirts I'm wearing in those pictures?

"dangerous animals". as if the shiftiness of their expression wasn't enough.
and since you mentioned lions, i was actually helluva disappointed because there weren't any lions this time around! thanks for rubbing it in.

i would, i have some clothes in the closet that remember my mid-teens.
i'm not into all that throwing stuff away idea.
and speaking of closet...

| I'm surprised at the heightened security around the boar relative to the camel. |

Lol. I though the boar was cute! I wanna hold it up to my ceiling and sing, "Spider-boar Spider-boar does whatever a Spider-boar does." _________________

you know what they say, "you can't trust your boar like you trust your camel".
i'm sure there is such saying somewhere.
and if not, there should be. _________________ i have no time for anal love

I only know that in some parts of the Sahel they have the saying
"You can't trust your camel like you can trust your camel"
Because camels are the only animals they know of. _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

| I'm a little surprised that there is no vegetation or anything in the camel pen, but sand. It seems cruel that the camel is stuck in a sandbox while surrounded by the oasis pf grass and trees... At least the boar has some sticks or roots to chew on. |

| Believe it, or not... this is becoming a larger issue when it comes to those working with animl models. There are internal grumblings that there is a need to "enrich" the lives of laboratory animals such that they are provided with stimuli. As an example, one idea is to put "toys" in rodent cages so they can "play" with something. While this may sound all fine and dandy, it severly hampers the ability to normalize their "home cage" experience and introduces a factor that can influence the behavioral measures you want to take. Having said that, I have no problems enriching the lives of animals in zoos. |

Well, I'd hate to disappoint. Actually, I don't have much to say on this one - Cfos is right to an extent - why would you bother 'enriching' the life of an animal you're probably going to end up killing in a few days anyway? Fortunately, I don't work with lab animals and can therefore leave such ethical considerations to others.
As for zoos on the other hand, much of what we consider to be cruel in an animal context is simply us projecting our own concepts of 'cruel' or 'desirable' onto the animal, which is pretty daft if you think about it. An animal such as a lion, for example, maintains a large territory in the wild not because it wants to, but because it needs to in order to get enough food. If you feed the lion, why would it bother getting off its arse to do anything? I'd have to admit, this is a pretty simplistic view and I do feel that some zoo conditions are much better than others.
Hmmm, turns out I did have something to say! _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!
