Hey, I don't know if I don't like the song. What genre is it anyway?
I'm just saying the lyrics are imho pretty horrible and not, like you said, great and symbolic.
But that's never been a reason for me to not like a song. I like Front 242 and their lyrics are mainly just random data. _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

Hehe, go 06:21:03:11 yourself...
Ahem, this morning I'm listening to Fortress Europe by Asian Dub Foundation. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Darren Hayman - "Crissy M". love love love this song. 'specially the ukulele only version available on youtube.
if there was a list of best songs about real-life pornstars this would have to be on the top of it.
also his "She Wants To Be A Cowgirl"; cool, but nowhere near "Crissy M".
Munan and Aurelyn - you both scare me sometimes. _________________ i have no time for anal love

What exactly is it that scares you?
I don't think we're scary. The Prodigy bass under siege remix of Front 242's "Religion", now that's scary. And yes, Aurelyn, not so random, I know...
Also, I'm listening to St. Germain right now, I have no idea what's the songtitle, but it's pretty laid back. _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

Scary? A little harsh... Mildly obsessive might be more accurate.
Slightly more to the point - I haven't heard that remix. Where did you find it, Munan? _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

It's technically Melodic Death Metal. And I mean that's just one verse of the song, you've got to listen to the whole thing to see what it symbolizes.
And right now I'm listening to "Ruins"- Nile. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

kidding kidding kidding.
although... speaking to each other in numbers?
as for me, i discovered Bonnie Prince Billy - a singer/songwriter from heaven. well, more like the farthest dustiest corner of heaven where no one ever drops by.
i waited to hear someone like that since Elliott Smith stabbed a knife in his own chest a few years ago. i'm stunned by the beauty of these songs. reminds me of why i picked up a guitar and wanted to become an acoustic songwriter myself.
right now it's "Cursed Sleep". _________________ i have no time for anal love

Actually, it was a reference to the Front 242 album "06:21:03:11 Up Evil" - the numbers are a simple alphabet substition for 'fuck'.
Really, I'm not crazy.
I'm listening to Codebreaker by Ono-Sendai right now. Lovely minimal drum and bass... _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

You know, each time I see that explained, I realise how very much not funny it actually is. But then when I don't see the explanation, I find it hilarious. It's probably a doublethink thing.
Also, I happen to own that remix. It's on their mutage-mixage remix cd.
It's very hardcore, though. If you're interested, I could make it an MP3 and mail it to you, but such things usually take me months to carry out.
Listening to Roger Waters, "It's a Miracle", right now. _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

Thanks for the offer, but I'm sure a mate of mine has it.
I'm now listening to Me against the Machine, by Drum Origins, remixed by Mav. Still with the dnb. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Let me know what you think of it once you get it. Also, I realise I should do what you're doing: get out my old dnb records and give them a listen again. Now where's my copy of Roni Size's debut...? _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

Hopefully within easy reach.
Continuing this morning with the soulful end of drum and bass, I'm listening to Planetary Funk Alert by Seba. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

You're not wrong. And far and away the most normal of the Jacksons too.

The Prodigy's Bass Under Siege remix of Religion by Front 242. It's good - I'd have to say though it's a little noisy for me right now, Munan! I'm much more impressed with their remix of Junkdrome; a good vintage Prodigy sound marrying well with Front's quirky electro. The whole album seems well worth listening to thoroughly. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Some of the The Orb remixes on that album are almost better than their own work and the Underworld version of "Break Me" swings idiotically. Yeah, it's a good one.
The Bass Under Siege thing really got me through some of the worst moments of my late adolescence and I could use it to annoy the shit out of my housemates, but it's not something I'd be into right now.
Right now, I'm listening - in stark contrast to the Front 242 mayhem I'm writing about, to the loungy, almost caberetesque "I'm Not A Woman, I'm Not A Man" by Gare du Nord. _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |
