Hey, has anyone else played the new Tomb Raider yet? I was such a huge fan of the original three and I was so disappointed when I picked up Legend - looked great, but it was way too easy and too short. From what I've seen so far the Anniversary looks to have fixed all that. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

I'm guessing you haven't played it, then. Well, I'm about half-way through the game now, and tremendously enjoying it. Some brilliant nods to the set pieces in the original, but everything is shinier and bigger... _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

No, not yet. I've been thinking of picking up a new game when I get back from my meeting... and the wife likes the Tomb Raider series, too.

I'd highly recommend it... Get it for the PC though, if you've got a machine that can run it - the PS version suffers visually from some heavy anti-aliasing... _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

We're not much into PC gaming, unfortunately. We generally use my laptop for all things PC (and my work) and it needs to be upgraded but with the whole "vista" ordeal, we are waiting to see if either one of our jobs will be vista-compatible. Unless you get something custom from a local shop (or perhaps order online) it is difficult to get a new PC that doesn't have "vista"...

Ordering parts online is definitely the way to go with PCs these days - much, much cheaper (at least over here it is) and you can get exactly what you need depending on what you're using the machine for. And you don't have to get Vista if you don't want it. (Although the only gripe I really have with Vista is the amount of RAM you need to run it properly). _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Yeah, custom order would be the way to go -- if we used the computer more. I've mostly gone the xbox and 360 route for gaming -- I've always just liked controllers better. I also was disappointed at how my laptop handled Morrowind (not very well!). I'm pretty sure there are a few 360 TR games and I'll likely get one of those. My issues with Vista is that neither my work nor the wife's support it. Likewise, neither SAS (statistics software) or SigmaPlot (graphing software) or Office 2k3 would work, so... sol.

Well, I guess my lack of issues is based on the fact that I'm still happily using XP (I bought a new laptop just in the nick of time). I nearly bought a 360 this year, but they still haven't released anything for it that really grabs me, so I didn't. Shenmue 3 (if it actually happens) could tip the balance for me. I spent the money on hardware for my trusty desktop instead. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Well, since we're off topic and all, cfos, your avatars never cease to amuse me.
I enjoyed playing the original Tomb Raiders back in '97 on the original PlayStation. I actually had this disc that had demos of Metal Gear Solid, Tomb Raider, and some other obscure games that I don't quite recall. The demo disc was a special offer thing from Dominoes, or Pizza Hut, or whoever started the "cheese in the crust" on the pizza, encouraging you to eat your pizza backwards.
Wow, that was an incoherent rant/reminiscence.
Anywho, Tomb Raider is a great series, and I can't wait to play the new one. And plus, Lara Croft is one of the hottest video game chicks ever. Period. _________________

I always felt really bad when I played Tomb Raider. It's destroying and robbing somebody's grave! Those traps are there for a reason! You're not supposed to go in there! _________________ bitchez n hose |

Yeah, but then you get to kill bears and T-rex's. Besides, if you can raid graves that have traps that don't even work, they deserve to be robbed.

Well, can't argue with that logic, I guess. _________________
