So, what are they? You know. The songs that you are mortifyed to say (or not say) that you can't stop listening to. Are they a lame, generic, overused genre? Do they just go against your general style? Are they a outdated and overplayed song that everyone liked, then abandoned? I've got a few.
Willie Nelson - On the Road Again
I normally despise any kind of country. But this one...it's just so damn catchy. I can't stop listening. And I hate myself for it.
Limp Bizkit - Nookie
This song is just really pathetic. It was extremely overplayed. It was a typical rap song. And I love it. The beat, the rhyme sceme, the timing, it's all good. But if I told my friends, they'd tear me apart.
Feel free to post and/or flame others.

i'm over having such petty inhibitions toward songs and i pity the foo who isn't.
yeah, from some point of view, the old me, the high-school me, would be scared and appaled seeing the current me listening to Public Enemy. but the current me don't give a fuck what the old me would think, let alone what other people think.
genre prejudice is plain stoopid.

Ignoring Sal convincing himself of his superiority...
Linkin Park has this one song. What's it called? Some of the lyrics go "I tried so hard and got so far" etc? I have found myself not only failing to retch in disgust and assaulting whatever source of the music, but actually listening to it and kind of sorta maybe liking it a bit.
This I find odd, because beyond that, I have nothing but contempt for the band, it's fandom, it's style, genre and whatnot.
Thinking about this makes me want to hurt myself. This is ironic, as Linkin Park usually only comes after that.

Also, whenever I hear Goodbye Horses, I feel the need to dance like Jay does in Clerks II (and yes, I know he got it from Silence of the Lambs). I even do the whole "Would you fuck me? I'd fuck me... I'd fuck me hard" thing with the lip balm (not lip bomb).

what i meant, and still mean, is: taste is everything. if u find a Linkin Park song that meets your taste - what difference does it make if it's Linkin Park? your taste is your business and it's silly to be bothered by what others might say if they knew what songs you like. you listen for yourself, and your own taste is the only authority that should matter. if it isn't then u're a foo.
in other words: when it comes to music, fuck your super-ego.

'mayaa to issho', wich is actually just from the soundtrack of Azumanga daioh. It's silly, it's simple, but it keeps reminding me of the Girl that loves cats, who, dispite being always silent and calm, suddenly starts dancing with her new kitten when she's alone in the room.
The entire series she can't pet cats coz they either run away or bite her, and her mother is allergic to cats so she cannot have one at home. At the end of the series she adopts a Iriomote kitten, as she is going to live alone for her studies at the university.
Makes me wish pets were allowed at my place near my university...

| I agree with Sal and feel I'm at an age where I just don't care what others think of my musical tastes. So, yes, I will put the top down and crank out some of Anna Nalick's "Breathe" from time to time. Also have George Michael's single, not sure of the name, but it was the one with the video that had all the supermodels in the bathtub. Of course, I do turn down the office speakers when playing the Tenacious D in the office... |

I definitely watched Sesame Street. With the exception of maybe Big Bird, none of them were as gay as Barney (or as annoying).
Okay, maybe there was something going on between Bert and Ernie. But my point still stands!
