For some reason, when I try to upload a new avatar, the site displays a weird message and then my picture is just a red "x".
This is the error message,

An easy thing to do is just post your avatar on an image hosting site like Photobucket. Copy the url when you upload it and and put on your profile editing page.

Tried it several times and failed miserably. That is what I did when I first tried.

Then try uploading it from your machine. Try everything! Try or fail! Try or die!!!
Ok, just try stuff... that's what I always do when I get that error.

I found that I couldn't upload from my machine, but linking to the image from an imagehost worked fine (Third option on the profile page).
