I dunno why I started this thread, but I am seeing this Subway commercial about a Prime Rib Garlic Sub Something-Or-Other, and it looks pretty good. I am a Sub Sandwich Connisseur by the way, I've tried many sub places, but it all comes down to Subway and Quizno's to me.

Subway FTW, with a 12" Meatball on Italian Herbs and Cheese, toasted with a bit of American or Cheddar Cheese, good food right there...

Nice. My sub of choice is a foot long Meatball sub with pepper jack cheese, on wheat, toasted, with oregano. That's the good stuff there.

I usually just like a 1 ft. long meatball thing and that's it. I'm not too picky, unless hey have a good amount of cheddar on it. Sometimes I add my own onions, but that's just me. I love onions.

And Subway is the one I usually visit.

Though I am from Connecticut and will always have ties to Subway, the best "subs" are "Po-boys" from a place called Ricca's which was (is?) located in the Tidewater Building off of State St. in N'awlins. The place was formally known as DiChiara's and was located off of Tulane Ave in the CBD, but it relocated during the late 1990s. Not sure if it is still there post-Katrina. They made several good sandwitches. The "Iris" was Roast Beef with pan drippings... mmMmmm. There was another place called the Louisiana Seafood Exchange, which had a kick-ass fried Oyster Po-Boy. Then there is the often duplicated, muffuletta. Though it was originally invented in the Central Market Grocery, I liked the one served by the Napoleon House off of St. Louis in the Quarter (they served it hot). For those that have no idea of what I speak, I refer you to:

Liuzza's, which is also listed used to make a very good French Fry po-boy.

I'd say my kitchen.

I've made sub sandwiches so delicious, they came to my house, destroyed my fridge and kitchen and took al my cooking gear, just coz they were afraid I was going to start a sub sandwich chain myself and put the whole opposition out of business.

True story.

I'll buy one of your subs for $50 US. Just as long as it's not burnt too much.

Is Hoagies a chain? Like Blimpee's? Or just a particular sandwitch?

You know, those long mothers that are so f*cking good when you bite into it for the first time... Hell, they don't even have to be that long.

I think its just a particular sandwich, not a chain, but I could be wrong. Never been to PA, so I'm not sure if there is a Hoagie restaurant chain in existance.
