Yup. The only thing you should ever preface Football is "Fantasy". Can you even play fantasy soccer? |

Oh, come on! That thing that is called football in Yankeestan includes neither foot nor ball.
Football is voetball, fussbal, fotboll etc. : in other words, a very exciting game where 22 men try to kick a ball in each other's direction with their feet.
Then there's that perversion of a sport's game where I don't know how many walking meat loaves are doing something which I can only call sublimal homosexual acts.
Know that video "mann gegen mann" by Rammstein? Add a large rubber anal pill shaped thingy and you have American "football". _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu

LOL...well Munan...each to what ever their fantasy brings about when they see something, eh? You see sublimal homosexual acts - I see something like wrestling and head butting...you see anal pills - I see an oval shaped ball.

You talk about "something like wrestling", "head butting" and "oval shaped balls" and you tell me there's no sublimal homosexuality in it for you?

would that make Zinedine Zidane the American Football's Trojan Horse in Yurp?
maybe he was paid by NFL to promote the game on the old continent, and naturally he chose to do it in the prime time.

Sigh, I was hoping for something more caustic, or berating, not so simple and level-headed.

"Then there's that perversion of a sport's game where I don't know how many walking meat loaves are doing something which I can only call sublimal homosexual acts."
Are you trying to slam Football or Rugby?
As for Rammstein? Can't say I know anything about them and haven't seen a video since the days of Mark Goodman and Adam Curry. The one thing I remember about them from the news was that all those kids in Columbine (sp?) liked listening to them. Are they one of those bands that dresses in dark, "sings" (shouts?) in a monotone and don't play instruments?
"You talk about "something like wrestling", "head butting" and "oval shaped balls" and you tell me there's no sublimal homosexuality in it for you? "
What about watching men running around trying to kick a ball? And no hands? Are the lovers of soccer afraid that if hands touched a ball it would be consiered a form of masterbation? Do lovers of soccer also watch marathons? Or does a ball in play have to be involved in order for it to be ok to watch sweaty men run (and not have homosexual tendenacies). And what does the "goal" or "net" signify? You've got a man trying to block a ball from going in.... Does that mean that bad goalies are gay and their form of gay activism is to allow things to enter the net as a form of social protest? And what's the whole deal with taking off a sweaty shirt and giving it to another man at the end of the game? I saw a great deal of that going on at the world cup. I don't know if it is homoerotic, but what are you supposed to do with that sweaty shirt? It is a form of homoerotic expression because you are essentially stripping? This conversation has turned far more interesting. Do fans of soccer stay to see who swaps shirts with who -- like most men watch cat fights? Do you think they will kiss at the end? I dunno, I don't watch it much, but I do know europeans are far more kissy than americans. |

"Football > Rugby > Soccer"
Though I agree with this, I would add that the GAA is on par with "Football". What a fun sport to watch. I was in Dublin a few months ago and got to watch a few matches.

But I will counter this claim: every girl I've ever talked to who's ever been to Europe for some abroad trip, and even one who lives in Switzerland (who's actually going out with an American), says the guys they meet in nightclubs and on the streets of Europe creep them out, unless they're wasted. _________________ "Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love." - Albert Einstein |
